While playing PvP after the Season One patch, I noticed that the Klingons have a new power. I will go into a fight with 100% everything and once the fight starts, they will fire on me. My shields will take no damage and remain at 100%, but my hull starts losing points like crazy. About 10 seconds and boom, I'm dead. What is this new power? I've never seen it before - or if it has been available, no one has ever used it against me before. I would really love to know what it is and if there is something which can help us against it. Viral Matrix is bad enough on both sides (42 seconds without power), but something like this is a game breaker. It's just too much for either side to have. Any help and info on this will be greatly appreciated.

The power is old and everyone can use it (also FEDs).

It is called Feedback Pulse. It sends a pulse back to you whenever you hit the target with a beam over its duration (15seconds) and ignores shields.

The devs are currently looking into nerfing this skill, because it can deal a lot of damage with the right consoles, skills and high aux power.

The ship will pulse white and you will see white bursts flying to you while it is in effect, simply stop shooting/change target to prevent getting blown up and come back 15 secs later.

Just to be a bit of an arse... if you're using cannons, Feedback pulse doesn't affect you ; ie. Stop firing your beams until the feedback is finished

It wasn't feedback pulse bacause I wasn't shooting at it. I know what that does, I've even used it once in a while. This was something that went through my shields and did direct damage to my hull while my shield power remained at a full 100%. I tried Science, Tactical, and Engineering team on it and nothing works.

I don't know what it is, can you read your combat log, that will tell you what they hit you with.

May have been Beam: Target Shields - Tactical BO Ability - useable by both sides - capable of disabling shields - and there does seem to be a bug with it - where multiple stacks can cause shields to stop working until you respawn. There have been a few games where I survive the initial alpha strike by jamming the escort, and then flying around with no shields until some other ship decides to end me and we all know how pathetic hull tanking is in the game. To add to this problem certain abillities that are supposed to be a counter fail to repair the so called damage to the system (EPTS, Tactical team).

With the huge dps inscrease that all escorts/klingon ships (cannons) have now. Good news for you is that, it more on the Fed side since BTSIII is easier to aquire there then it is with Klingon BO's, and when coupled with BTSII can be very deadly. In other words, STO is becoming Star Trek Arcade.

No it wasn't Target Shields. My shields didn't budge from their full 100% but my hull took all the damage. It was the damnest thing and it didn't only happen to me. It happened to every federation ship. I didn't catch it in the combat log, I forgot to do that but next time I will.

This happens sometimes... happend to me too three or four times on either side, feds and klings. Dont know whats the cause, but I'am sure its a bug, there is no ability to bypass shields.

This has happened to me too (always PvE) - It's most annoying in my Science ship, as I sit there at 100% shields and watch my hull drop until I'm dead.
(Can't be feedback pulse - it takes a lot longer than 15s for me to get killed.)
This happened to me last night in my escort, too, as a matter of fact, I had full shields and died. Let's see if I can remember to check the combat log next time. Bug or unexplained power, whatever it is, it's super irritating.

Maybe a HYT III Transphasic proc and crit? or Bunch of lucky Anti proton proc crits?
