You arent the guy that I was talking to in TTS are you? lol Seriously, it was truly needed. The other guys in the post already stated why. Sooooo. -------->dead horse consider it beaten. Really though I dont think anyone else (and I browse forums constantly) has even complained about this. Because everyone knows it's OP.

Cannons don't really fire glowing projectiles at golf-ball speed through space, they fire energy. Since they fire energy, at ranges of 10km or less they still fire beams. The energy would stretch from the firer to the target instantly, with only the appearance that it was traveling through space at 100 mph or so.

Basically, an energy weapon can't work the way the SFX for cannons depict them. they've got to be beams of some sort.
