Can someone help explain the new Death penalty to me? Everywhere I search the explanation are not clear to me. If your ship takes damage do you get an online alert telling you this? Does something flash on screen telling you your ship requires repairs? I saw a screen shot where you had to go into the U screen to see if you have damage but if you are in the middle of combat who has time to do that? Also how do you tell on ground missions as well? I understand this is live now since the last major update. Could someone please help me out.
Thanks.

when you die, there is a chance you'll get an injury (though not on Normal difficulity).

It'll be clear when you get one when next to your ship icon you'll have little injury icons that'll tell you what the injury is...the icons are read so they are easy to spot. It's the same kind of icon as the buffs and debuffs you get.

I think a little red flashing animation a long the similar idea as the "skill up" indicator would be good.
