Thanks SO MUCH for all your support, and we'll see you in-game!
So I'm to the point of Infected, but I'm a lone player and it would seem that you can't do it alone. Aside from joining a team ,what am I supposed to do for fun? Is this the end of the game for me?
The point of an MMO is to experience a game with real people, and not playing single player. While there is the option to do so, the game is more designed with real players teaming together in mind.
In an MMO, there ARE going to be things to do that you can only do as a team with other "captians".
IF you only like to solo, then just ignore Raid type content and only do new missions when they become avaliable that are not "Raid" classified.
As of now Ive been leading every task force group in my current flleet. I puged infected and cure before my fleet was able to muster a group for it. Now the fleet has cleared both of them. But Ive also had to pug a few non-fleet members in, and they are sometimes bad, sometimes good.
The point of this "task-forces" are to work asa group, just like being at the job-site. You dont have to do them if you dont want to. But they made to make the team think, are you going to half heartled pull the entire room, and then kill the nodes in there, while dealing with the drones. or are you going to go slower, pull at a slower pace, but safer. Stuff like that makes those "raids" harder or easier.
No one is forcing you to do them if you do not want to, hell if ieven I willing to workwoth the lesser experence ppl if they that upfornt with me. I did a fleet infected run eraily today, one had to drop, I pulled a person who never did the fight before, but he was upfornt and told the group what his experence was, and we worked with him, becuase he was honest. Unlike the ones that arent that run trough two groups of adds, to get to that node only to die a few feet in front of it, then ask us to rez him, while we were running back form the reckless pull he did.
In essence the bottom line to this is are ou will to be smart, learn form the experences, and better yourself or not. But that is only if you want to do those "raids". Thats why ppl pug and/or join fleets, its a gorup effort I have fun with the group I run with, that is why the are they to start with.
As to the solo-ablitiy, what will you gan from an outdate nerfed raid that was made to be 5-maned by ppl who can think, plan, ect. Hell I hate to see what my BO;s would do come the generators on cure *shudder*.
If you dont want to group then dont, if your after the content, then being willing to endunde the pugs, meet ppl in there, ive found a few good ppl by pugs. But go out have fun, if they not for you then who really cares, I personaly dont like to PvP. Have fun at the very least.

So basically you told him to stop playing for the next few months ?
Doing group content solo can be real challenging and I like MMOGs which give you the choice either to do a dungeon fast in a group or (with much time effort, the right class, skill and good gear) solo. AFAIK it's possible to do Infected solo up until the last boss but the switch thing prevent doing the boss alone.
Nah I kid, I just can't believe you guys are still banging on about soloable STF's. Maybe I'm missing something here, but the majority of MMO's revolve and group play, that means group instances, I can appreciate you want more solo content, but instead of arguing with the majority of people who are doing STF's in teams and like it that way, ask for yet more easy solo content in that case and leave the STF's alone, love em or hate em they're here to stay and as they are, cryptic have made that abundantly clear by the way they started out with them and have stated themselves that they're not for everybody.
Also. why this assumption that people playing STF's are hardcore? I'm not hardcore, my fleets not hardcore and we still do them on occasion, maybe not every day but if someone wants to go we rally round.

Its the new spin buddy:
"Anybody who does not want what i want is hardcore" thus making them able to claim to be "casual" and from there they can claim to be in the MAJORITY...............
When the truth is that ppl who want a solo MMO are actually a smaller minority than the real hardcore players.
I never said STF's were "hardcore" nor hard either, simply that why couldn't there be a solo version of it? And where is it set in stone that a MMO must contain group only content?
But my guess is most ST fans have never touched a MMO up till now and are not having fun trying to find groups. I was sitting in Gamma sector last night and there was quiet a bit of LFG spam, yet no one was finding groups very fast, couple ppl was on the infected 2nd part, or 1st part, some of them was on the cure, and my rotten luck got invited for an infected run, the group leader asked if I had done it before, I honestly said no, and I got kicked from the group... Yea, looking for a group is fun, and is totally worth the while. Put up with this crap in WoW, I'd really hate to see the same thing here.

It will be the same thing its in WoW, you only want people that have done it forever, because it will be much easier and faster to do. Its all about maximizing time/reward, most dont care about fun in MMOs.
