# 1 Is in-game scamming illegal?

I know different MMOs deal with this differently.

EVE Devs Statement: Scam tell you hearts content (its legal).

WoW Devs Statement: Scam at your own risk. (Not so legal but you can get away with it)

What is Cryptic's stance on in-game scamming of players for profit and tears?

I need a new profession and scamming is always profitable.

You owe me 1 million credits for this typo/grammar failure...

(and if that works then scamming is allowed)

Rules of conduct:

(xiv) Participate in any action that, in the sole and absolute opinion of Cryptic, results or may result in an authorized user of the Game being "scammed" or defrauded out of items that user has earned through authorized game play in the Game;

Illegal?

No

Perhaps you meant "Is it against Cryptic's rules?"

The should have just worded that

Rules of Carebear:

Non-carebear in any action that, in the sole and absolute opinion of Carebear Command, results or may result in a Carebear of the game being "scammed" or anti-carebeared out of items that carebear has earned through authroized carebearing in the game;

They should also retitled the game to Safe Trek Online.

If you mean people are free to be...people, well Eve is a sandbox MMO.

Having said that, the whole "Evading Concord is always an exploit" thing really annoys me, and goes completely against the sandbox design of the rest of the game.
