Would be nice if we had a target system set-up to allow us to only target ships if we wanted to. When there is a ton of mines or fighters it is almost impossable to target a ship. I mean really, unless we all have stupid Tact officers you would think they would know the diff between and mine, fighter and ship. If we tell the tact officer we only want to target ships that is what we should get.

Plz put that option in

under controls there's an option to make autotargeting not target deployables.

It doesn't work at all though.

The problem is worse in ground PvP, because not only does auto-targeting seem to prefer deployables, but the hit-boxes are ginormous. A waste-high turret can often stop you from clicking on the 6'4" Klingon behind it.

True. Also, tab-targeting to try and get an actual player under those circumstances will rarely work. I always end up cycling through the same set of shields, turrets, drones, and security escorts over and over; even if there are enemy players standing out in the open.

And even if the players are in front of all the crap.

i swear that the game somehow assigns a higher priority to targeting deployables than players.

What I find especialy annoying is when I am in space and there are 3 targets near by; 5km, 10km, and 20km. And when I hit tab to select a target, who do you think it targets? Why the guy who is 20km away of course.
