Captain's Table and Borg space on the other side of the transwarp conduit and in the sector block containing the neutral zone are the only places you will encounter Klingon ships that are not shooting at you... but there is no way to actually fly the other faction's ships.
I didn't say "I think" i saw this...I said I saw this, so your reply is moot and unhelpful. Have a nice day.
For the rest of you, thanks for your replies...but let me re-clarify. I didnt see target ships in red. These were Kilnk ships ID'd as IKS whatever, but were ally color blue, and were commanded by federation officers. anyone with helpful information feel free to post. Those who wish to just post to see themselves write something please refrain.
Amok Aghaxja, Admiral, Starfleet. USS Wanderingstar, Commanding.
i had sort of a similar experience in PvP. Was flying about and i seen this constitution class but it was Klingon. had a Klingon name and everything. naturally enough i opened up on her with full phaser banks and the rest of my team followed. but it was definitely strange. havent ever seen it again though
I gather that in the End of Beta event, people were able to get opposite faction ships. A Klingon on SB1 could talk to the ship vendor and buy one... although they had to be fast because the vendor was trying to kill them.
So I can only think of a handful of ways this could work and it would have involved glitching/exploiting the system or outright hacking. To my knowledge, this engine has not be the victim of a memory edit or anything like that. Also, to my knowledge, ships are not inventory items you can mail at any point so it isn't something like a Gorn BO.
If we're legitimately talking about looking for the bug that allows this and not exploiting... My thought would be that it might involve a complicated series of bridge invitations that causes the server to lose track of where someone should be.
Maybe something like:
Klingon player on Qo'Nos goes to their bridge and then invites Fed player (still in the tutorial) to their bridge. Fed player may be able to visit their own bridge from there. Then gets reinvited back to Klingon bridge. Somewhere the game gets confused and when they leave the bridge they wind up on Qo'onos.
Maybe to complicate things further, the Fed player is a Klingon. Fed Klingons seem to have been a copy paste in several regards of KDF Klingons and this may give them a backdoor into Klingon space.
Wait a sec. Can Klingons and Federation form a team while on Drosana or at the Captain's Table?
This is my question as well.
I remember an incident(tm) awhile back where one could sit in neutral territory and invite captains to your bridge, and they did not have to be your faction, since invites for this are like team invites, they can span across any section of space.
Maybe this is something like that.
