Plus as has already been stated.... A LOT of people do NOT play STO through STEAM.
Hence STEAM will not keep track of those players and thats why STEAM does not give even a remotely accurate picture.

Deny the stats all you want. The game is uber fail. Sure, steam is only a small portion of the player base, but it is still a reflective portion. From 4k to 400 is a substantial drop in players among steam users. It corresponds quite well with my own observations of the drop of players.

Maybe you didn't read the thread, but STEAM does not reflect squat.
And thats just a simple "fact".

Yes, I read the thread, but not through the rosy glasses of a lifer. Can steam be a reliable judge of current player behavior? NO. But, steam shows a considerable drop in players, confirmed by my own observations in game. It may be a small slice, but it does reflect something tangible that is happening to sto. Go ahead and visit your nearest fleet action or guild and then try to tell me that the steam figures don't really reflect reality. All you lifers can do is deny the reality of this failing game using any excuse that you can, while discrediting any info that contradicts your optimism. It is wishful thinking that marginalizes what is clearly seen in steam stats.

Sounds to me more like someone is bitter because he did not like the game and cant get his money back, and thus wants to make everyone else miserable.

Quite frankly, not only does using that "lifer" stereotype make you sound increadibly arrogant, it also makes you sound like a complete jackass.

And... Moved! Took them long enough!

Got to laugh at the people in this thread who haven't heard of the second most popular game download service in the world. (The first being Pirate Bay), then refuse to learn about it, and post their ignorance as justification of Steam's irrelevance.

They should make web browsers with Search boxes bigger than forum post boxes. That would herald a new age of enlightenment.

To bad you can't tell if they quit Steam or STO. I don't know of any lifer who says we haven't lost players. We were telling people in March we knew people were leaving because their free time was up. Cryptic told us. This game is not empty. I see players all over the place at all times.

Basically you think everyone is quiting because you are. That's just not the case. Still lots of people who enjoy this game. Who are still playing it.

ILMAO the reason it's at the bottom is cause all the players are on the forums looking at these figures and deciding what they are going to TELL cryptic it HAS to do next.

see..with othwer game people buy them..they understand they are the customer...so they PLAY those games. But in STO everyone is CHIEF so nobody plays because all the chiefs are makin ghiter high amnd mighty decisions about whats wrong "this weekend" with the current "state fo the game" LOL im joking but also im scaed it might bne true....honestly..these are the things sto players MANAGE to find to do(almost ANYTHING it seems rather than play STO..go figure
