I just need a moment to get all of this out... somewhere. I cut meat for a living. I'm moving up in the sense that I've gotten into my company's management training program for market managers. The problem is, is where they sent me to train. The store is ran by a dickless guy who's looks like a damned rooster. I can't communicate what's going wrong to the management team of the store level, even though that's what I need to do. See, at my company, we have schematics for how the meat case is to be set, and this also includes a set for the stuff like lunchables, bacon, and the like, and we also have markdown policies regarding when meat should be marked down and so forth. The market manager I'm training under doesn't do these things. He doesn't follow the markdown procedure correctly, so all the markdowns end up being delegated to being done at core business hours instead of the mourning when it's slow. This is particularly important, since there is usually a good deal of stuff to go through, and you have to check against rotation of the meat, because not everyone in the department rotates properly, the same, and there's the customer aspect where they will mess up everything anyways. So, it's best to do when slow, so as to get the most thorough markdown possible. And of course, we miss stuff in the afternoon due to this lack of follow through in regards to the policy. I'm threatened by this guy for everything he does wrong. He had a company specialist (for what the district manager would be for a meat department) come and look and write him up recently, and then he threatens me and the other trainee with write ups.

I can't go to the management team, because they don't deal with this effectively nor keep me and the other trainee involved with the issue. However, the specialist told us that that was what we should do in the even that the market manager doesn't follow through on the changes necessary. And then today, I found out that this guy redated meat. You're simply not supposed to do that. If meat has been out in the counter for +4 days from when it's been cut, then it's a throwaway the next day. He redated it another +4 days.

I'm just stressed. I've never been one to throw people under the bus. I try to be a very honest person about things. But now, I feel like the only course of action is to call the specialist.

**** my job, that's all I can say.

Sounds like this guy is breaking some meat laws. I'm sure you know they exist. Most companies have a whistleblower number in their breakroom posted so you can report this to upper management. They will act, if for no other reason then they don't want to get sued for selling bad meat.

Yeah, I thought about going that route too.

Health and safety are at stake, id go to the management and tell them straight. you could be saving someone time in hospital or worse.
