Starfleet Security is looking for you. This is no fledgling wanna be startup group, we're established, well organized and downright powerful. We have a player generated recruitment video, and this is no fraps junk, but actual content generated by our exrtremely skilled members. To view the video in HD and to take a peek at our website, go here:
Just to name one of the side benefits, last night there was a class from our Starfleet Academy Division in Ventrilo about Consoles. The resident expert on Consoles discussed the pros and cons, how to align the console stats with your current skill points for best results, and ended with a question and answer open floor dialog for those with questions about their particular setup.
One of the most discussed topics were the differences in console types between tank ships and straight up DPS Escorts, the Consoles for Science Ships versus the best Console types for an Engineering ship.
It was an excellent class where Veteran Admirals imparted much knowledge on those who haven't been in the game for very long.
You don't need to speak in Ventrilo if you don't want to. It's a must for real time instructions, fleet wide meetings, auctions where rare tribbles and purple equipment that are being sold for millions on the exchange, go for far less to our members. Can you imagine the rare blue tribble that sells for millions only going for 120K on a final bid? That's one hell of an awesome deal and many people walked away that day with striped or spotted rare tribble for only a fraction of the going price. We have players who don't have microphones bid in the game chat, and the auctioneer calls it out in Ventrilo for all to hear as the bidding jumped from one member to another.
Besides having our members benefit from the auctions that our best players contribute rare drops to, the energy credits go directly into the Starbase fund, for when they finally get developed and released, we'll be one of the FIRST fleets to have our own Starbase when the time comes that we can get one built.
And that my friends, is just a tip of what to expect in Starfleet Security. What are you waiting for?
If you are looking for a fantastic fleet of friendly and helpful people, lots of fun, and a great atmosphere, I'd suggest you look no further.
This is definitely the best fleet/guild I've been in in my history of playing MMO's (dating back to Everquest's release). I'm proud to be counted amongst the membership of SFS, and I know you will be too.
Great Video!!! Great fleet!! You always see the 'SFS' tag on ships so you know they're active.
We were the first fleet in the game, just days after beta ended, to impliment the addition of the SFS tag in our ship name. There was no way to distinguish our own memebrs from any other as there was no fleet tag or any way to recognize our own groups among a swarm of startships. (Yes, I mean start-ships, not starships, haha)
We have 460+ Active Players as of right now.
The only ones who are allowed to have Alts are the Officers, and even then, they have a catagory all their own, "Reservists" in the Fleet Roster. Why did we do this?
Before, in most other Universes and including this one, is disheartening to see the roster and have 27 players listed, but only 9 of them are active and the rest are 'Alts' that rarely if ever get played. You can feel played in a situation like that.
In our Fleet, if we are closing in on the cap population for a fleet as we ourselves rapidly are, and we have a new recuit and there is no open spots, an Officer's "Reservist" Alt goes out the airlock and that person gets invited. We know this can happen to the Reservists, as they are reserving a slot for an actual active player.
That is how much we care that YOU get into our fleet while you can. You open the roster, you'll see pages, and I mean that in the plural, of players forming groups and doing what we all do best. Then you hit the "Show Offline" and then really get an eyeful. Each and everyone is an active player who will at one point log in!
We have people from all over the world in all timezones. We make sure and spread out our Officers and Senior Officers and Warrant Chiefs to include all timezones and make sure each time slot has great people willing to fly the stars.
Last night, I logged in late on purpose and flew with a Welsh and several other European players while listening to them in Ventrilo. They were on their game and on target for their goals. So the answer is yes, we are not time zone restricted. We are not player restricted. We are Starfleet Security from one end of this Earth to the next. Now you can be too!
