wait i thought i remembered this being a bug..though i thought it had been fixed. can anyone confirm/deny?

they're supposed to hit hard. Don't do infected alone (bring a 5 man team and a few healing ships). they don't hit that hard.

Yeah. Infected is a team event and is best run that way. I don't know of anybody that has done it solo.

else get a science vessel with tractor beam repulsors to do the dirty work

We actually managed to duo it. Took twelve deaths apiece but we smashed that gate to bits.

Spawns seem to be the same no matter how many you warp in with and it was designed for a team of five reasonably equipped casual gamers. I really doubt that anyone would be able to solo this one
