I noticed there's three separate missions in STO where DS9 gets taken over by invading forces and you have to rescue it. I have to wonder: after that, how does CPT Kurland keep his job? He's clearly not a competent commander. :p

That said, nice video, but why are you showing space fights when the whole fleet action is ground-based? It still doesn't make me want to play through that mission again. I'll put it mildly (though I'm sure others will put it worse later on): worst mission in STO. By a huge a margin.

So, uh, does this mean that the space part of the fleet action is actually going to be released?

I don't know, I would say CE is the worst. I don't think I'd even say it's the worst by a huge margin, in my experience the majority of missions are pretty bad. Considering they are pretty much all the same mission with different skins thrown on that isn't saying much.

At least the Klingon side is up front about it, the missions basically say "Here's the mission, now you will play it ad nauseum until you are BG5".

Mehhhh.... I've seen better videos from you cryptic. I'm not complaining, would just give it a straight 5/10, take it or leave kinda thing.

Very nice but I would still like to see more diplomacy and exploration missions on a smaller individual or fleet scale. The STF's and fleet actions are nice, but I didn't want to play ST:O for fleet actions.

I have to disagree on all fronts here.

For one, DS9's location in-and-of-itself puts it at high risk across the board. DS9's past history will further exacerbate the danger the station ends up in. This is regardless of the commander of the station.

Furthermore, Crystalline Entity is, bar none, the WORST fleet action.

By an incredible margin. I've succeeded at the DS9 ground portion with more than five people, but less than 10 (at any given time). While it can be improved (a cooldown on the light emitter spawning), it is doable if you focus fire the Legates.

On top of that, there are clips here of a space battle for DS9. I don't understand your comment in particular in this regard. You think Cryptic isn't aware that they only have a ground component right now?

Maybe... well... maybe they're adding a space battle and a new Fleet Escort skin?

CE?
Edit: Saw the above post. Yeah, that one's pretty bad, but I still think this one is worse.

I should have probably mentioned I find every other mission in this game, if a bit repetitive at times, at least vaguely enjoyable. Even the STFs. But not "DS9 Under Siege". That was just an exercise in stupidity.

Sorry, CE=Crystaline Entity. The mission where you litterally smash your face into a rock until one of the two breaks. The rock usually wins.

Yes, but even when the Dominion War was in full force, DS9 only fell once, and even then only after a protracted battle. Here, all three counts is "Surprise attack! We lost all defenses in the first minute and now we're helpless!" If DS9 is really still so important and high-risk, then there should have been heavier defenses in place.

And you're right, Crystalline Entity definitely sucks on the basis that fewer than 10 people can beat it.

I asked about the space battle clips because they're kind of irrelevant if you're showing off stuff that's not present for a specific mission. That's the sort of thing that ****es people off. I know there's the OTHER mission where you fight Cardassian and Jem'Hadar ships outside DS9, but that's not the mission this video is supposed to be about.
