Having trouble with this annoying mission, i do fine with space battles, and ground battles also for the most part, however every now and then when i am fighting about 10 klingons, randomely about 10 more beam in to the fight, the away team gets overwhelmed and one by one everyone starts dying quickly, this has happened to me several times, any ideas?

I had the same problem with the Starbase 24 Rescue ground mission, where I'd get mobbed and me and my BOff would all die and I'd respawn only to start over. I just finished it yesterday and I only died once

I recommend having a good mix of exploit/expose weapons. Plus an engineer who does landmines or a tactical BOff who tosses grenades. When you see a mob in a room using the map, go in and shoot one then pull back into the hallway... the mob will follow you and you can have more room to manuever. You can also stand by the doorway and fight there, that can prevent the mobs from flanking you. Now if you do get flanked, don't be afraid to back away further down the hall and let your BOffs do the dirty work. If they go unconscious you can revive them but if you go down they may not have the chance to revive you! Later in the ground mission I had a situation where I was fighting a mob in the hallway and when I was almost about to finish them off, a second wave beamed in. When I killed them, then another mob appeared! I went backwards and kept shooting at them. Lucky for me there was no fourth wave of Klingons.

One last thing to remember: if you respawn, you'll notice some of the mobs in rooms that you already cleared have also. Ignore them and go back to where you left off. Don't waste time re-killing old mobs.

I asked another player for advice last month and this is what he said:

Yes, make sure your bridge crew are well trained in ground combat and you have a medic and engineer. My away team always has a medic and shield technician and the rest of the slots are tactical.

Take it slow, clear the first batch by making them fight you at the entrance. Then clear the rooms one by one by trying to take on one side of the room then the other. It is easy to be overwhelmed if you pull the entire room.
HTH for all those who have trouble completing this.

Captain_K.C., this type information you list should go into a post in the Starfleet Academy Thread for all future STOL Generations. If it isn't already there, you might want to consider that.
