What about that torpedo From the Cloaked Bird of Prey when it shot on the enterprise - A's saucer. That went all the way through with out blowing up the Enterprise.

Doesn't This Promotion go against Cryptic's TOS , Selling things for real money to get items in game, that are not C-store relayed????? I think YES.

It could tie into a Even more rare mission that could randomly pop up while doing explore missions.
1.) rule of the internet:

If its rare, and you make it difficult to get it will accomplish nothing, as it will be grinded for no matter what.

2.) rule of the internet:

Rarity means nothing past 1k players playerbase.

3.) The Dev selling it benefit them more than some farmer selling it. In fact, they sell useless stuff that noone wants. now they could sell something people actually would want to buy.

which makes me a SSSSAAAAADDDD PANDA coz being a klingon i'm the ship that gets shot at Dx
It all depends on the size of the hole and how combat ready the super structure was built to be. Significant exposure to vacuum has happened in the series and movies when a sizable section of the hull is torn open and damage control is able to seal off viable sections of the hull to prevent further explosive decompression. These are ships with multiple decks and bulkheads not soda cans with no more than gas for internal support. Also shielding systems can be used to quickly close off areas suddenly exposed to vacuum.

Though I cannot find support for a naval warship surviving a true through and through attack it is possible. You would think that a surface ship that lost it's bow would sink because forward momentum would drive more water into the hull but the U.S.S. Pittsburgh would beg to differ. Here she is under forward steam http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...sburghOops.jpg. It lost one hundred feet of it's bow in a typhoon off the coast of Japan during WWII.

There is also the U.S.S. Benjamin Franklin, (Big Ben) an Essex class aircraft carrier, which sustained an attack by two semi-armor piercing bombs one of which punched through three decks. The Japanese bombs set off secondary explosions of Big Ben's aircraft munitions. Big Ben was towed for some time by the Pittsburgh, (Somehow that strikes me as ironic), despite a 13 degree list for repairs and eventual redeployment.

In the end explosive decompression is bad but nowhere near as destructive as the implosion of explosive compression that submarines like the Thresher and Scorpion, who's wreckage was identifiable by Robert Ballard, underwent. I think space ships are supposed to blow up because of damage to a power system, but most likely its for the visual impact of the paying viewer who would find more realistic decompression damage anti-climatic.

For these reasons I think the Galaxy-X should be able to punch through multiple ships and have some of those ships survive.

actually, the only things that should "explode" on a trek ship are:

am storage.
am reaction chamber and assorted systems (aka warpcore and system linked to it)
Power distribution (since they use explosive plasma... for whatever INSANE reason. Cables not good enough? Its a bloody '87 monitor in that science console of yours, not the freaking new york power grid...)

Munitions can't explode, as antimatter is fueled into the torpedos when they are made ready for firing.
Phasers are not prone to blowing up in your face either. Quirking out, sure, but they don't shred your rear when they go down.

Leaves drives system, aka propulsion. Plenty of boom in the nacelles, thats for sure. Impulse: not really.
The impulse reactors aren't working on self sustaining fusion after all. So when those crap out, they just go dead. Whatever made them crap out probably did more damage than they did.

So, star trek ships per se should not blow up easily, even if you pierce their hull like cheese. Actually, on many ships there is plenty of "spare" volume to go around. Just look at the galaxy. critical areas aside, you can shoot that thing till it has holes all over the place and it shouldn't blow up. (but ramming your ship into the engineering section helps, so i have been told by some jem'har'har).

Klinker ships are quite gifted in terms of spare volume too. So blowing holes through that neghvar is probably only angering its owner.....

What about people who don't do the "Really hard Elite missions" as they view them as a waste of their limited time?

What about people who know what they want and just want to get that in as short amount of time as possible without it being misconstrued as "content."

C-Store or nothing.

And why not both? Then people who want to get it by throwing cash at it can, and people who want to work for it in-game can.

Its really annoying, so far all the new ships added have been added to the C-store so you must buy cryptic points to get them, on top of the subscription and cost of the game in the first place, and the Galaxy X added to be given to Referrals only is just another slap in the face. Im starting to get real fed up of this.....

Management is aware that you're fed up. They responded by burying the complaints, and going home for the weekend.

While one hates to rubbish Cryptic, isn't that what they do for everything?
