This kid reminds me of this.

Please do. By the way, I only have the 1 Science Officer under this name.

"Subnucleonic Beam
Goal: This ability removes buffs and slows performance of targeted enemy. Counters abilities such as Feedback Pulse, Reverse Shield Polarity, Attack Pattern Alpha, by removing the applied buff.

Changes:

* This does not put abilities into recharge, but instead slows the recharge time for bridge officer abilities and weapons systems over its duration.
* Removes currently applied buffs from target at activation time. Buffs can be later applied while subnucleonic beam is active.

Countered By: Science Team applied while SNB active removes the debuff; Photonic Officer helps to offset slow recharge"

Basically turns off buffs and slows recharge times of everything, instead of totally locking out recharge times, my point is it turns off buffs and applies a debuff to recharge, only the recharge debuff is removed and there is no resistance to a 2nd or 3rd SNB, so if your buff was turned off your defenceless against more. it still cripples you, maybe not as bad as a total lockout, but worst in other ways, especially if there is more than one science officer about. it's gone from having no defence against it, to having no defence after it. my view is that it needs balancing, maybe a resistance to it for a certain time, maybe a random selection of which buff goes, maybe a longer timer on using it, maybe once it's removed all your timers it debuffed get reset so you can use them.

I don't spam RSP on my cruiser either, it's a last resort power after shields are dropping and hull is pounded by torps, timers are long and it would be a waste to just spam them for safety sake.
You may not have, but a lot of people did (and still do for that matter). A cruiser loading up 3 RSPs is incredibly difficult and frustrating to kill, and until 1.1 came out there was no way to clear RSP off those tanking crusiers; or to clear the RSP and the buffs off of an Escort/Raptor that's wrecking your teammates.

The changes to SNB turned it from an overpowered and completely uncounterable ability, to one that is balanced and fits in well with tactical situations. The fact that it can clear buffs that have long cooldowns just adds to it's quality in the new situations.

I don't disagree entirely, I think it's to far though, it's a good idea to have something to stop RSP or FBP spammers, even cut up the tactical buf***e escorts use, but to totally remove them from a match by constant SNB spam, it needs a protection against spamming of that, otherwise science officers are still OP and can cut through tanks easily, they could already cut through escorts without even using SNB. Maybe it should remove their own buffs aswell.

How stupid is this!!
I hadn't really considered the end result of the change to SNB, but now that you have pointed it out I agree with you. The only change that stands out as a misstep is the buff removal. There should be a separate skill that gives you this instead of rolling it into SNB. Or ... if there was something you could run/equip that would make you resistant to SNB.

For the record: Yes, I think SNB deactivating a buff that takes longer than 45 seconds to cooldown seems fairly powerful.

BTW, what is the cooldown on SNB?

2 mins, even less with photonic officer, deflector dish, deflectors and starship operations.

Be a man and don't post comments out of context. As for my first line, I tried to lighten the mood, but obviously that fell on deaf ears. My offer still stands on the 1v1. Message me ingame.

however the context, you still say you would spam SNB on me if it wasn't on a 1.30 cooldown.

as for lightening the mood, you don't start by putting people down with a derogatory comment like that.... you make an unbias or self inflicted comment, joke about "in general" or "yourself" not the person in which you want to listen to you. otherwise their first reaction is "oh someone like that saying something or other" and fail to even comprehend anything you may have to say. it's a forum, words with no visual expression.

and means your laughing, viewed in your context, laughing at the person you made the snide remark at.
