OK thank you. I now have no hope or faith in Atari/Cryptic any more.

Hmmm... advertising something falsely... I wonder what that comes under as ?

FRAUD.... ?

PYRAMID SCHEME....?

Cryptic once again shafting their playerbase... ?
In answer to your not so very hidden questions;

Yes, it would be if they failed to delver on promised goods that have been bought and paid for. And the Galaxy X has been in one way or the other bought and paid for.

Not according to US law.

And my I please refer you to the current Engineering Reports if you still think there is any "shafting" of the player base going on. Specifically since the devs are doing so much to please the community. They just can't please evenyone.

Of that I have no doubt that it's going to be added to the game at some point, but probably not for a long time.

You're seriously going to let one thing ruin your experience in the game? One business decision? In-spite of all the reports, the listening, the posting that the devs have been doing since day one of the game. they have been catering to our needs and many desires the whole time. If every once in a while they can't... that's life. It's nothing to really get upset over for long.

I have to agree with Q, enjoy the game for what it is and don't let the business decisions you don't agree with ruin -your- enjoyment. I haven't agreed with everything Cryptic has done, either, but I'm not going to let that ruin my personal gaming experience.

When they can't because of a continuing pattern of business decisions suggesting those at top are ignoring them for the marketers, that doesn't bode well for the future of the game.

Also, I prefer giving my money to corporations that demonstrate integrity.

Right, its totally not ruining my experience in the game when some smartass is touting about his Galaxy-X.

Its also not ruining my experience when said ship is boasting mechanics actually violate the IP canon and history.
Oh right, this is just an ST game, no canon restrictions apply right ?

Fine, gimmie that cloak on my Prometheus, Defiant, Intrepid and Soverign.

Lets go one step further, I want that cannon that can shoot through multiple objects on my Prometheus too. Escorts are supposed to be the ones touting the heavy duty cannons... why cant I get this one, right ?

Its funny that Cryptic got rid of all the Gold spammers just to introduce a scheme which has replaced it with referral spammers instead. Its easier to condone it when your getting a cut I guess.

This is the first time that they are not adhering to the community's voice. The advisory council, the additional 60 free days, the salegate. All of those decisions were reversed based on the player's extreme negative reaction to them. If it was truly the continuing pattern you're talking about all of those decisions would have stuck.

So you're saying that every time a corporation makes a business decision in order to try and maximize their profits and make good on the promise that they made to their shareholders to make back the money that they invested into the company and then some is somehow lacking in integrity? Remember they've been listening to us with regards to development. They are in the talks with Chase Masterson to get her to play Leeta in the game, which was a long shot but it's happening. How is that not showing integrity?

The Advisory council still exists.
Cryptic banned the most vocal opponents and quelled dissent.
Don't start revision history.

Actually nevermind, i give up.
Its a waste of effort.

I'm referring to the endless claims made prior to release that STO would be a subscription-based game where everything that affected gameplay would be included in the subscription and that only cosmetics would be sold at a premium, not a cash store game where assets that affected gameplay would be sold (and especially not double-dipping with both). Turning back on that in increasingly substantial ways is what I find to be lacking in integrity.

It would depend on if they were being smug or quite about it. If the owner was going "look at what I got and you can't, in any of the chat channels then I would agree with you, but if someone just has the ship and isn't lording it over everyone's heads then there no problem.

There are canon restrictions, but you have to remember something. CBS has to approve everything that goes into this game. That fact that it is being added to the game shows that the owners of the Star Trek IP don't have a problem with the Galaxy-X being here.

I don't have any problem with this, be my guest. It would make some pvp matches more interesting if everyone could cloak.

I don't have any problem with this. Again it would make the game more interesting to have a beam version of the Tricobalt device.

And that would be different from any other MMO how exactly? The more experienced and powerful players in most MMO's are usually the ones who have been playing in the game for years and have spent/bought more time in the game than anyone else, which allowed them to acquire items, powers, and weapons that others can't get.

That is ironic, but it's a part of any MMO referral system.
