Not only 3-D TV, but a few networks will be 100% 3-D. This is going to get ugly very fast.

3D is here to stay. There are already TVs. As the Tech matures, the prices will drop.

Also, at some point, 3D images will be projected ala, pick your favorite Sci Fi movie that projects 3D images and video in open air.

I wonder if we are going to see a tech war like we did with VHS and Beta, or BlueRay and HD-DVD.

Hrm, imagine porn on 3D

Look I am all for hologram tech for my TV shows, having the image come off the screen. But to have the 3-D effect we see now only hurts the eys, and that's not a good thing. So it looks like while everyone else will run off to buy the 3-D TVs, I will be more than happy to get a 1080p HDTV run at over 200MHz. lol

Talking of HDTV

I have both a HD player and a Blu ray

and you know what HD looks alot lot lot lot crisper. I popped in the same movie in both formats and the HD one was far better and crisper sound.

Unfortunately Blu Ray was alot more cost effective and other things to.

while it is still in any way reliant on the Glasses or polarisation effect in any way it going to be useless.

I might get a 3-D tv ONLY if it had an on and off feature. Even if it did, I would still leave it off.

I would get one only if George Takei came with it, so he could sit around and randomly say:
"WHOOOOOOOO! Ohhhhh my!"

That would be funny. And it would be an incentive to NOT by an 3-D TV.
