Hello All,

I’ve been trying to figure out how the +10 warp power bonus is added to whatever your vessels base power level is works out. I currently have 2 Liberated Borg Toons, 1 is a Federation Engineer and the other is a Klingon Science officer. On my Federation Engineer I chose the Borg Neural Blast and Warp Theorist. On my Klingon Science I chose Warp Theorist and the bonus to Sensors. When I’m piloting my T5 Star Cruiser I get a +3 to all my power levers which adds up to a +12 not a +10. When I’m piloting my T5 BOP my entire Warp Power bonus is stacked on my weapons; however, when set my power levels to max weapon power, I only end up with 106. So on my BOP I only get a +6 bonus to weapons and noting else. I also noticed that when I’m piloting my Carrier I get no power level bonus at all. I’ve also noticed a glitch that sometimes occurs when I try to use the different power level adjustments options. It doesn’t happen all the time but sometimes when I click option 2 on my power level settings my power levels get a huge boost for about a minuet. The bonus I get doesn’t seem even and I’ll try to explain how I noticed that it was happening. This is what my numbers are when I use the auto settings to max weapons in my BOP: Weapons 106, Shields 50, Engines 25 and Auxiliary 25. I don’t need to do anything but click option 2 on the power level settings and sometimes my power levels will spike to this: Weapons 116, Shields 66, Engines 39 and Auxiliary 39. So the bonus I seem to be getting is Weapons +10, Shields +16, Engines +14 and Auxiliary +14. I’m a bit lost and I’m not sure how my Liberated Borg bonuses should be affecting my vessels power levels. Is there something that I’m doing wrong, maybe I’m pulling power from a battery or something? I most likely overlooked something somewhere that explains how power level management works but I’m shore that something’s not adding up here.

Thanks for your time!

A question about Ship's Power. Have I got a deal for you. For the full answer take a look at my Beginner's Guide to Ship's Power 2.0. (Link is in my .sig).

The short answer is that the bonuses are for the <Subsystem> Efficieny skills. The bonus addes to the bonus the skills give you. But you won't be seeing much of a power setting bonus for +10 or +15. And you only see that bonuses on subsystems at low power (<75). The lower the powet settings, the higher the power setting bonus. And it's baed on the allocated power level. Not the net power level.
