How many others have been blowing up (or getting blown up in) cruisers with over 41k hull and 8k shields in under 5 seconds with this combo?

Does it seem a little OP to anyone else that these two powers stacked together can eat a cruiser alive in PvP in less time that it takes to hit a shield buff button? It seems that the -20 resist debuff has no cap or no stopping point and people's resistance is being dropped by cannons to 0% resist or less it seems.

Until recently I haven't seen this happening at all so I don't know if people are exploiting an accidental change to the way the debuff stacks or what but I'm not entirely sure that tactical captains should be able to instantly kill in one pass the supposedly most resilient ship in the game...

Not when you pop before you can use those skills. If you time to get that off, its because you were lucky or you havent been hit with deluge of damage these guys can put out.

no one pops in under 2 seconds without super crits, especially if they have over 40k base hull. It's called fast reflexes.

Ive seen my shields drop and my hull go from about 90% to 2% in a blin kof an eye. The first shot landed, I saw the shields drop, I went to press the button buttons for Emg Pwr to Shields(RSP wasnt going to work unless I at least had a sliver), before I could even hit the next button for RSP, I was down to 2% in my Vor'cha. RSP meant nothing as bleedthrough finished me off.

Crits or not, these massive and frequent crits arent "rare"...they arent anamolies...they are a clock work phenomena that we can spec for. High Crits are common and routine...you can count on them, no need to hope.

If Crits were significantly more rare, i'd have no issue with thier contribution to DPS(ok, I take that back, I think Crits should be very, very rare for shields and significantly reduced...let Crits as we see them only apply to hull, but still more rare). But Crits cant be over-looked, excessivly short kills cant be blown off as being due to crits, when crits are so prevalent.

Well Cryptic is working on fixes and has nerfed Escorts on Tribble severely because of this Criticality. Which ironically was introduced when they added the new skills.

If anyone's to blame Escort Captains, it's those who abused the system. :p

5 seconds is a long time. Yes, you have to react quickly. I can't remember the last time that I died, even to an Escort running full damage buffs, without being able to pop something. Now, if I don't have RSP up none of my other abilities are going to do much more than buy me a few seconds, but that's a few seconds for me to fire back, for a teammate to drop Extend Shields, whatever. Dying from bleedthrough with RSP up is not an excuse as a Cruiser; you should have at least one copy of Hazard Emitters and at least two copies of Engineering Team, minimum, any of which will save your life if the only source of damage you're taking is shield bleed.

Of course, if you don't have ANY of those abilities available (i.e. they are all on cooldown), you deserve to die to an Escort running at least two or three of his.

Stacking damage buffs / debuffs is certainly an issue, but it is not as severe an issue as you seem to believe except against extremely focused and well organized opponents.

I have a 45k hull and 8500 shield and have died some times this way. Rarely. But it happens. Mostly happens when I've been in an extended battle, made a half-dozen or more kills, and I'm at that point where all my powers are on cool down... give me a few more seconds and I'm ready to start fighting again... but those escorts are fast, they can come back for more, and their all refreshed while I'm on cooldown.

QFT!

Personally, I love my Tac Officer flying my Assault Cruiser. I'll take it over a squishy Escort any day.

Well my guess is you where hit with a Beam Overload III + Omega. I'm not sure why this one isn't used more (I Know the bug) I keep my 3 Dual Heavys on auto click one and let them go a round or 2 then click my Dual Beam... I engage the BO III Before I zoom in... I find it dosn't bug if its running for a few seconds before you use it... and Omega increase the crit chance A LOT... I have hit for 67k in PvP with this one... I am sure its frustrating. It works for me much better then TSS.

They have changed Omega on Tribble... however I have still hit massive Beam Overloads on tribble. I have the accurate trait and full spend on battle Strad. Not sure they are going to totaly stomp the one shot kill, just make it more rare.

# 10 Macros

The problem isn't that anything has been exploited or misprogrammed. it's the. macro applications people are running with the game so they can press one key and complete a combo buff debuff tanchyon cannon rapid fire and then hy torpedo all at the right timing. I wAs just playing pvp and my team was completely slaughtered by the opposing side. Everytime we respawned they were at the respawn point just carving us up again. They were all over the map in secomds. I really dojt see how they were doing it with ability recharge times. I really wish Cryptic would find a way toget rid of that. It makes PVP non-playable and unenjoyable.
