What do yo do with the offerings of appreciation that you receive from Aid the planet missions?

I have tried clicking on them, double clicking on them, equipping them and nothing happens? The item says consumed on use, but I am unable to use it either on my character or my ship.

I figured it out. You right click on the item and select "use" and then it gives you whatever the appreciation is for that particular aid mission you did.

Thanks for posting a followup when you found the solution. I've been wondering the same thing and actually had several of my "offerings" accidentally consumed and your post came up when I was searching for the answer.
