I've been hawking and dealing with WOW, Star Trek fans, and MMO lovers at my call center and have yet to entice anyone with promises of help or free loot by using my referral code for STO. What starategies do you guys have when everyone you know has already heard of or tried in some way STO in the past, and have no interest in trying the update version or helping me out?

I have several keys redeemed, just waiting for them to actually purchase.

What tactics did you use to positively upsell the game? Especially if you are dealing with those that already play MMOs or who are only playing casual games on Facebook or pre-loaded PC social games.

I can't even get people to accept an email referral and I don't want to waste any.

I'm offering an Energy Credit bonus, and I belong to a strong , casual, and friendly fleet to support and welcome new players. I love the game so I don't feel I have to upsell it.

Advertising, virtual door to door salesmanship and bribery is it?
And people wonder why I want to organise a boycott against anyone with a Galaxy X.

i agree "buying" referrals by offering ingame credits or items is too much,
but you shouldnt treat any with galaxy-x later as that type of players...

some simply REALLY invited friends
and some simply like the game and want let others test it
and help them finding into the gameplay...

the main problem is: why would any gamer use my friend code if he just can load the demo instead. content is the same.

Because of the in-game bonuses.

Still, we could use a hand from Cryptic here, if they would mention the referral bonuses to anyone downloading the demo, so they are reminded we are looking for them to sign through us.

Edit - hmm... I wonder... I have an idea.
