Hazard rolled his eyes. These wargames served no constructive purpose - they should be collecting biological samples or researching cures to the diseases that continue to plague the fringe regions of the Federation, not practicing killing each other.
He tapped his combadge.
"Sick bay reporting in, Captain. We're ready for," sigh, "'casualties.'"
He rolled his eyes again.
"Nurse Tama, prepare sick bay beds one through nine for 'casualties.' If the Captain wants us battle-ready, battle-ready is what we'll be, for all the good it'll do."
Tama gets to work and tries to avoid Hazard as much as possible so he won't notice how upset she is. She's the kind of person who has to make everyone like her. She gets genuinely upset if she can't please someone.
