That is actually a great idea. I remember the KEF assault on Sirius Sector, the last day of Open Beta, and the thought deserves merit, BUT, this is my only concern:

Warping in.

If the spawn points are going to be camped, you guys can have fun with that, without me. Not going to be creamed by over a dozen Fed or Klingon ships as I warp in, then get repeatedly creamed as I just try to respawn and leave. That is not the definition of fun, and I have no stomache for doing that to others. It's just not cool.

Agreed, I was there for that and it wasn't fun. Just spawn in and - *BOOM*.

I think the answer would be to have either random spawn points (which are really predesignated when the map is built, but there are a lot of them) similar to Unreal Tournament or Battlefield (2142/2/BadCompany) or a protected spawn point, as in the cap and hold salvage map that we have now.

Personally, I'd like to see some of both, along with a capture the flag element. Something like this: (Totally theoretical scenario made up from mah brain warning!!!!)

(Eta Iridani sector block is converted to open PvP) Klingons decide to conduct a raid on the Donatu System (held currently by the Feds). The Klingon fleet assembles at Ganalda, and sets course for Donatu. As they enter the system, two things happen: 1. A map is created (or hand designed, and already exists - this is probably better, as the devs can control where everything is in the system) and; 2. a system message is sent to all Feds currently in the sector block, warning them that the Klingons are attacking.

The map is made up of a starbase and an asteroid field, 2 spawn points at either end and 4 - 6 capturable spawn points set up among some kind of terrain feature (large asteroid, mining outpost, research probe, destroyed Borg sphere, whatever) in between. The starting Fed spawn point is the station (they are the defenders), as Feds respond to the attack warning, upon entering the system, they spawn at the starbase.

As Klingons enter, they spawn at the Asteroid spawn point (the far edge of the map).

Each side fights for control of the spawn points in between. If the Klingons get to the starbase, there could be a point where Fed players man the defenses, and if they are destroyed, the Klingons attempt to board the station.

Here the combat switches to ground-combat, fighting for control of the station, with captureable flag/spawn points inside. If the invaders reach the starbase command center, they hack into the main computer, and control of the system changes to the Klingons.

Just switch it around for Feds attacking a Klingon system. Also, it could be switched up so that some systems only have a base on the ground instead of a starbase, and for the main bases for each side (K7 and Ganalda) maybe there are both starbases and a ground station. Some could be military outposts, some could be industrial, archeological sites, colonies... whatever.

For me it was spawn - wtf?o****te - EM- then boom.

It was made up for by the shooting of Klingons in the base though, that was fun.

The team has spent a tremendous amount of time on Klingon Costume options, Some kick-ass new episodes, and entire enemy group solely as a nemesis for the Klingons, as well as the fact that you'll be able to play the same Episodes the Feds are getting.

So from where I'm sitting, Klingons are getting more content in this update than the Feds are.

Our plan moving forward after launch was to ensure that new content had equal footing with Feds.

I'll be the first in this forum to talk about it if that ever changes...
Lets see feds get 3 new ships klings 1
Feds get whole new level system 1st contact diplomat missions etc (diplomats with costumes) we get 8 new missions.
klingons get an eyepatch and some new head ridges, a minor dress change
Orions and nausicans get new race outfits
Gorns and the other races nothing special

For me it seems the feds actually get more

They got more. The Ship retrofits at least will unbalance PvP even further as tehy all have gimicks and special powers like the Galaxy-X, which is upgraded to Tier 5, too.

That's a good idea, actually. I mean since there is no Neutral Zone, anymore, really. Someone needs to put this forward to the Devs! I love this idea!

God help you if its not. Klingons have been getting the shaft from day one, something major needs to be done about that fast.

Points to you for this one.

OK, thats an interesting PoV. I don't agree with it however. All the Klingons are getting is a copy of the same stuff with a sprinkle of other stuff on top. This does nothing to balance out the lack of content overall.

Hooray?

This still does nothing to balance out the general lack of content in comparison to the Feds. Getting access to the same new stuff is all well and good, but a drop here and there does not parity make.
