i look at it this way, each game i bought means the game might stay around a little bit longer (more money to cryptic etc. etc.)

Because all the replies are basically the same:

First: What I bought, was "exclusive" content. Said so right on the box. I do not have content that is exclusive. Therefore Cryptic engaged in false advertising. Now, I'm grown up enough that I'm not gonna start shouting lawsuit or anything, but this was a bad practice.

I already laid out my cost benefit analysis on the other thread (which if I had been paying attention I would have replied there instead of opening a new one)

I got exactly what I paid for. And I greatly enjoyed them. And you know what? I still like them. I like them a lot.

We didn't lose anything when the C-Store versions went up. I'm glad I've had them all along, I'm glad I still have them now, and I'm not worried that other folks have them too.

My advice? Play your own game, enjoy your own game, and don't worry about other peoples' games. Your life will be happier.

Did you ever read the 'End User License Agreement'???

And by playing STO is implied acceptance of this Agreement...

I like the part where he resorts to name calling. That makes me want to have a rational discussion with him right there, yup.

What was the EULA saying there you wanted to use as a counterpoint? I didn't see anything in the legalese that applied, but I may have missed a line...

PS- there is now precedent that "implied agreement" can't be upheld in court, but iirc the few cases which overturned "implied agreement" as non-binding were rather high-profile cases, far outside the financial means of the average gamer. *shrug*

Regardless, its their game, their rules to change, and their fanbase to breach promise with and undermine loyalty from in order to reach a broader number of complainers. I';ve walked away from STO at this point and am still unsure if I'll seek any kind of partial refund or cancellation. I simply don't trust the company any longer to hold to any course and I am quite surprised to see them so ready to move against their core fanbase to appease the masses.

but your still posting on their forums complaining because you didn't get your way and attempting to flame me and failing which i find rather funny. please try again. Or better yet just quit playing and go play another game and then of course I'm sure you will find something to complain about that company's way of doing things that you don't agree with and you'll threaten to quit.
