True, but we need to eradicate these ants, before they steal all of our wimens.

My ants are red. I think they're fire ants. I have deployed ant traps to combat them.

Pretty safe bet that if they are red, they are fire ants. Find out where they are coming in through, and also pick up some perimeter defense stuff, that way you can put it down, and it will keep those buggers from coming in for a good while. You can also get some powder stuff that you can put on the ant hills that will deal with them pretty quickly as well.

That one is commonly known as the 'cow killer', but is more commonly called a 'velvet ant', as the sting from it is suppose to be so painful that it will 'kill a cow'. It is actually a wingless female wasp that looks like a hug ant (one that I caught measured a little over 1/4" long). In the 10 years I have lived here, I have only seen two of them, so they are pretty solitary and don't hang out in urban areas. Of course, the second one I saw was last week, hehe.
