its safe to say that alot of the sjips needs revamping to meet canon. To me it seems they are not even trying to put enoug detail in the ships so they look like there counterparts from teh shows and movies. I have mentione this before even the sovereign class needs either changing to look like its nemesis version or add a sovereign refit class for t5 or t6 or a t5.2?

Not sure if this has been brought up yet, but the Celestial-class has a weird flickering problem on the saucer. There are windows underneath the letters on the ship's name that flicker through the text. It's pretty distracting. Is there a possibility of having those windows removed so that the ship's name is on bare hull, rather than painted on top of windows?

There are a lot of clipping issues with the port (left) side windows of the Orion Marauder Patrol Cruiser. You can see it best if you compare the windows of the port side with those of the starboard side. Both sides should be identical.
I wrote a couple of bug reports over the last months but this issue still hasn't been fixed.

Welcome to STO Gaby. If you can change the photo hosting to http://imgur.com/ Angel can add your pictures of the saucer to the main page. CapnLogan, the ship modeler keeps track of the thread. He's currently under staffed right now, but having your issues on page 1 will help get them addressed.

S'okay, I've got an imgur add on for Firefox. It means I can simply right click the image and select "quick upload" and it pops it right into imgur. It works about 98% of the time, so posting non-imgur images directly into the thread is cool. Having to follow a non-imgur link to re-host it (and then possibly have to download and re-host it) is a bit tedious, though.

I've added the issue to the front page. GabyBee, if you are unsure if something has been mentioned, check the front page of the thread, the errors are collected there (when I have space available). And please please, if you see an error listed that is no longer relevant, do let me know so I can remove it to save space.

# 1356 Positive feedback

I don't know if anyone noticed but in the YouTube video cryptic put out for the Rhode Island she actually fires from the phaser bank locations on the hull (even the ones on the back near the pylons)

Nice. Now if only the other models could do the same.

p.s. As mentioned on my other thread, why do you tease me and have the Rhode Island's windows working when the Nova still remains unlit indents.

I wanted to repost a few great posts about issues with the Rhode Island model that were not fixed before it left Tribble:

The only window option for the Rhode Island has round windows, however, the ship model pictures show it has tall rectangular windows. Either let us choose more than one window option or change the one window option to the tall rectangular windows.

Okay CapnLogan, get ready. Here are the modeling errors I spoted while comparing the Rhode Island CGI model with the STO model:

Rhode Island Aft

Rhode Island Dorsal (Top)

Rhode Island Forward

Rhode Island Side

Rhode Island Ventral (Underside)

I trust you will get Fixes out before this hits the Holdeck.

Ok, had a busy weekend, but finally got around to whipping up a few pics and getting the screen caps I wanted:

Here are screen shots from Voyager Season 7, Endgame. I have more that I can upload if needed.
My feedback on how the ship performs and other issues will be in a separate thread. This post is primarily for CapnLogan's benefit.

This is a time-line of the Rhode Island's appearances in the Episode, if you want to check it our for yourself:
First set of shots are of the first appearance of the Rhode Island, around 36:10 to 36:12 into the episode.
Second set of shots are from about 39:13 to 39:18
Third set is a bit more involved. It's when the Rhode Island class is actually in combat. This is from around 41:30 to 41:33, and 41:48 to 41:55

In addition to what I'm presenting here, Azurian also created a fantastic post that highlights many of the things I missed.

Here are some modified shots from in game that show some of the issues with the RI class model.

This image shows where the Saucer RCS thrusters need to be textured in, the missing Starfleet decals on top of the Warp nacelles, and where the grills behind the bussard RAM scoops need to be gold, Navigation lights, etc.

This image shows about where the rear and side observation windows should be, as well as where the underside should be smooth.

This image shows:
  • where the Starfleet decals should be underneith the nacelles
  • where the side observation windows should be
  • that the deflector should be more vertical
  • that the shuttle should not be used as an object to light the ship registry and name
  • that the ship name should be above the registry
  • that there should be sensor panels under the saucer

This image shows where some of the missing textures or decals on the bottom of the hull should be, that the top of the hull surrounding the deflector should be smooth, that the dome should be moved much closer to the shuttle in the bottom of the saucer, and the missing navigation lights on the bottom of the saucer.

# 1358 Intrepid model fixes
08-23-2011, 08:57 AM
CaptnLogan

Your Intrepid fixes made it to holodeck and they look great!, BUT they were only applied to the T4 model, Not the T5 model as well. Could you give a heads up to someone in the office so that the T5 model gets updated too?

Thank!

No room for the Rhode Island errors on the front page. I've trimmed it down as much as I could (even rehosting the images on the more superior imgur) and I'm still 157 characters over my limit.

There are another 16 refit ships coming soon. There is no way your going to have enough room on the opening post for all their issues.
