I'd be more happy with ...

Del Taco Tacos being put on the C-Store. And then you get a code for a free shuttle given to you when your tacos arrive in the mail.

But ... you know ... me + tacos = Happy Captain.

It wouldn't even have to be a fully made and ready to eat taco. It could be a special Star Trek Online Del Taco making Kit. Like a kit. To make tacos. And a code. For a shuttle. Your taco delivery shuttle.

Tacos. Yum!

I say no.

The reason why is this: This ship is not somekind of exclusive you sped $50 on a retail box. It's something that takes alot of time and affort and convincing for alot of us that have it. And for the people that bought the gams and subs themselves spent like $300 or something. Thats as much as a LTS, same as the MU uniforms.

The Galaxy-X and MU should be vet rewards like the Captain's Table will be in 400 days (should be 600 tbh). Cryptic rewards people that go an extra length for the game. That is how life works people, you work extra hard and you get back more then someone that just shows for work to sit at their desk and do the least they can.

If you want the Dreadnaut then get it like the people that have it did. If you dont have $300 then go and find people. The world is full of people that you havent met yet that may be intrested in Star Trek, but you dont know cause you probably havent gone around the net or town. And if you have but couldnt get anyone to bite, then I am glad you tried and you should get some award for trying hard, but that's the way life is. Sometimes we get things and sometimes we dont. What about your neighboor with the BMW or Corvette that you want? You could get one if you truely descided to find a way to make enough to buy one. There are people desciding to goto school at community college or online college so they can acieve more, maybe some of thoes graduate will be able to afford that car you want.

I didnt have a problem with the Exclusives going C-Store, infact I was glad. I think the uniforms should be free so fleets can have "Fleet Uniforms," The MU people paid a dear price for them and got ganked by Cryptic. So what if they didnt promise to keep it exclusive, it should still be for a while longer.

The Galaxy-X should eventually be made open to everyone but not for a long time. Like the Lifetimers Captain's Table, it should be a vet reward. Us Lifetimers put out alot of $$$ and to put out that much money and have your asylum open to the public the next month would be insane. They are going to keep the RAF program going for a long time I bet.

1,000 people see it and want to get it so they go and try to get 5 people. Most people get 1 or 2 to subscribe for a month. That a $15.00 to $30.00 times 1,000 you do the math. If you want it right now then start finding people.

For another example to make it easier to grasp: Supposed they made the Medal of Honor for your military something you could get by tripping on your shoelaces and getting a nonfatal concussion. Everyone would be tripping and falling. People that get the MOH do something incredable for their country and most of all, their fellow soldiers. Jumping on a grenade to save youre squad is a selfless act (a large sacrifice). Soldiers dont do things like that to get the MOH when their dead. They sacrifice something, like their life. The MOH would have no meaning anymore if someone bumped their head and got one too. I'm not saying to go out and get killed but the example is about paying a price and recieving an award for it.

So you sacrifice something like your time to recruit 5 people or your time at work to spend $300 dollars and then you can get the Galaxy-X. People that go up and beyond tend to be rewarded for it. Its how awards in my fleet are earned. Most of our member play the game. Some donate real $$$ to support our website. The least I can do is give them a rare medal of recognition on their fleet profile. The members that donate money are like life time subscribers making a longterm investment. If I could I'd give them a special ingame reward or free C-Points.

Sitting here on the forums crying and making posts is just sad! Get off your butt and recruit some people!

Thats why I said this as my answer. Just because adding it to the c-store would be ridiculously funny. ^_^

Well with so much of the other "exclusives" appearing up on the C Store after only a few months, sure why not put the Galaxy X up there?

i have to say some people are SAD! I've heard of everything from buying people the game to offering massive in game bonuses for referrals. you people that paid whatever amount of money to get this ship you are pathetic. We should resist these underhanded tactics by cryptic to force more money from us. Give it a while it will be a c-store item.

When you take a car to the mechanic you pay for allot more than just the parts needed for maintenance and repair you pay for the manhours costs as well, which can be, depending on the location, 80 dollars an hour right now. Of course the mechanic only keeps a fraction of the manhours cost the rest goes to the shop and it's overhead and the service writer. If it takes from personal time then it is a type of cost even if the task is enjoyable. A Ferengi above all should be aware of this. A business meeting conducted on the back nine is still a business meeting.

So time spent wrangling friends, family and complete strangers to adopt STO for at least a month is a type of cost. What is ones personal time worth? When I ask myself this question I realize just how much I don't want the Gal-X. If all work and no play lead to poor health then I should remind you of rule of acquisition 23 Nothing is more important than your health ... except for your money. Or perhaps an unofficial Rule of Acquisition: Time, like latinum, is a highly limited commodity.

I would in no way cheapen the honest efforts of those who did not exploit the RAF system and still got a Gal-X. Time is a factor in this. They should get time to enjoy the fruits of their labor. Cryptic should learn that details help to suspend disbelief while they engender credibility. If a shiny will eventually wind up in the C-Store then they should give a minimum time before that happens and stick to it. Credibility and trust make good customers. See rule of acquisition number 57: Good customers are as rare as latinum. Treasure them.
Oh yes, I understand all of that. Unfortunately that system is not equal to everyone. Person A might simply send out 5 emails and get everyone to sign up. He literally might have only spent 5 mins. Person B might try to convince people in person to try the game, but not actually get anyone to do it. He might spend several days. On the other hand, every single person pays the exact same for an item in the C-store; you cant get more equal than that.

Obviously some people will be upset if this happens, and that is a shame. However, the real question is whether the amount of people who would actually cancel(rather than just complain) would equate to more money that the purchases of the item from the store. It would be interesting to know how it has panned out with the recent C-store additions, though Cryptic will obviously never give us that info. I have no doubt that some people canceled over this, but I also have no doubt that alot of items have been sold.

Really, you don't have to petition at all--Cryptic will add the Galaxy-X into the C-Store when it feels it is ready to do so at their own benefit. That's its only consideration.

~Notice how Cryptic gave you Buddy Keys to give away to their friends, until everyone ran out of friends to refer to, THEN Cryptic started the Referral Programme with Galaxy-X as the big fat carrot.

So really, you don't need to petition--Cryptic will add the Galaxy-X into the C-Store when it feels it is ready to do so at their own benefit.

Yes, there will be days and days of people screaming about how they spent $300 to get it and now it's not exclusive etc. ad nauseum.
