Ok before you throw anything at me let me start by saying that i am a HUGE trekie, treker whatever.

I love the klingons and was disapointed that they were enemies of the federation in this game, but i digress.

The game is awesome, but the klingon side really needs a great deal of work. Finding anything is a pain, there are no signs, yes i know i will figure it out, but alas i am a jackass.

The ship selection is sad and the options make me weep.

The PVE game play has gotten better, and i understand that it will be greatly improved very soon.

Alas, i am just frustrated with the klingon side. I want so much to play a klingon, yet i can not bring myself to do so.

For those of you out there who see me as a blithering idiot who can't see the forest for the trees i ask of you, "Why would i play a klingon in the current state of the game?"

So convert me please, i want more drinking songs and blood wine dammit!

"We've got Orion women" convincing enough for you?

Is 'The KDF has more Orion women than Klingons' really something to convince a KLINGON fan? :p

I stopped logging in my KDF toon weeks ago, and only returned because I found a fleet that adds to my fun. But honestly, 90 % of the fun comes only from being in that fleet, not from being on KDF side. It makes the lack of everything simply easier to deal with.

I used to love flying my carrier, but as a Tac officer, I just don't feel like I'm able to compete now (post 1.2) unless I'm in a Raptor or Negh'Var. I'm in a decent fleet, so I log in and run the daily missions. Other than that, I'm starting to gravitate back to my Fed Engineer.

Which blows, because I really do prefer playing as a Klingon.

I found a frontal labotomi was the best way to enjoy Klingon content that way I find every one of the exploartion missions fun and new because I cant remember having done the exact same thing 10 times in rapid sucsession.

Seriously there is no reason to play Klingon.
PvE - Limited
PvP - Almost non exsistant and what we have is mindless, we need realm verse relam, open world, instances that aren't mindless killing.
Customiuzation - Very limited compared to Feds
Subscription - Same as feds for a fraction of the game

KDF gameplay.

kill 10, 15, 20 dumb pve mob ships then wait 5 minutes, rise, repeat 40k times.
queue up for 3 of the 4 maps that have ppl.
wait 2-20 minutes for 5- 9 minutes of actual play**

**unless its 2v8 ..

join a fleet

and sit in /zone chat .

its a mmo thing, some do it better and some do it slightly better.

I always have that feeling deep down that I can't compete. Its the small things. With an all Nausicaan crew, for example, I can't use tribbles. For no reason. They react like I'm Klingon. I actually hate tribbles, but I like to breed them and sell them. This tiny piece of fun - results in annoying squeaks whenever I store a tribble in my BO slots. Sucks.
Then, I barely have use for crafted items, and the crafting is all but perfect. Still, I like crafting stuff. Can't do that on KDF side. Even worse, I'm 'lucky' to find exploration missions with leftover anomalies I can scan from copy/paste Fed missions. Its like teasing me, 'lhere, have a reminder that you can't craft'.

I play almost only profit driven characters. Smugglers, traders, pirates. So the financial aspects - selling tribbles and crafted items - makes a big part of my fun, and in these aspects, I can really not keep up with my Fed toons. Which are all Ferengi and quite unhappy about being in the Federation; but after all, they can breed tribbles and craft.
In other words, I'm caught with the only Fed species I like - one of the few species you can't make in the alien creator - in a faction I dislike, and my fun comes from the RP part of selling out this faction to my KDF allies. Its all not 'real' - as in a real part of the gameplay and options. Its nothing but make believe and I highly doubt that was what Cryptic had in mind as the main source of fun.

I want my Nausicaans to be *pirates*, not have a trait called 'piracy'. I wanna ambush unarmed traders, steal their cargo and leave them to die on desolate rocks with barely an atmosphere. I want a Talon and an asteroid base with a huge storage deck full of stolen cargo crates. And what do I have? Clipping dreadlocks and a Raptor.

Here here...

That would be cool. I tried a few times to play my klingon as of late and It is really sad.

I would love to play a privateer, Maybe small fighters and a cargo ship.

It would be interesting, but rather divergent from the rest of the gameplay.

Indeed. The last Dev post was long ago. Since then there were no replies ffrom them either

When I see what the Feds got and will I get I think they should rename the game Starfleet Online, thats what it mainly is. I even stopped believing in the Engineering reports. I'll only believe in what I will see when it's going live, until then I believe nothing more from anybody from Cryptic.
