On the Starbase 82 Deeper into the Mystery. The Borg take out my personal shields. How do I protect myself?
I purchase the newest shields from the fleet in the Orionis cluster and still useless.
Normal difficulty should not be this difficult. Yeah, I am no expert but with only five players I can't beat the game this way. I'm not a hardcore gamer just trying to play out my and enjoy the missions. If u want a really difficult mission all you have to do is adjust the difficulty. I forget how, since I had no intention.
Every time you exit Sol system you are faced with a memorial to the fact that 40 federation ships couldn't even scratch a single borg cube. What you are fighting are creampuffs. The best way to neutralize the borg shield neutralizer is Hazard Emitters. Or you can go my route and load up on hull heals and ignore your shields all together
if you play a science officer I would suggest having a BO you can switch out that holds multiple Hazard Emitters, as without your shields your hull will go down very quickly. As an escort have at least 1 HE and focus on hull heals after quickly taking out any probes (who do the real damage) before concentrating on the cubes. As a cruiser. . .well your kinda made for taking on the borg already.
EDIT: and if your a Sci officer and you do loose your shields make sure you activate your dampening field, mine reduces incoming HULL damage by around 75%.
Well nothing really clears the shield neutralizer debuff that I'm aware of. Its only fired by the various tactical drones I believe, so if you can have your engineer get their attention then their captain power can easily out heal a shield neutralizer.
You can also try to get armor with the shield regeneration bonus on it. I believe that outpaces the debuff.
