Did you actually use/place your skill points? It works just like every other promotion in the game.

I wish the TOS Fanboys would realize CBS Did away with Commodore like the US Navy, so Cryptic cant do it, because its not Canon for the Era STO is set in

I wish the TNG Fanboys would realize that even though the rank was not mentioned during TNG, DS9, and Voyager, a reason for removal or actual statement of removal was not discussed. Additionally, we are no longer in the timeframe of ANY of those shows, we have moved BEYOND it (unless you're one of the fanboys that can't live w/o your refit Galaxies, Intrepids, and Defiants). There's no reason it couldn't make a resurgence.

Ok, Fanboy here.

As far as all of the *****ing that has gone on, well what do you expect. We all have different wishes in the world. you really think that a game would make that any different? Really?

So More ranks +1
More Ships +1

Commodore or not? Well it sounds neat to me, who cares if it is old or new. When i joined the Army they had just changed the command sergeant major rank. Before that there were Specialist above e-4. We at one time had Tech Sergeants as well.

If they never come back, well who cares. No one screams about cannon in RL military ranks.

If they wanted to add Field Marshall to the list of ranks, i would be pretty much ok with it.

So, just maybe we can quit screaming at one and other, post our ideas and maybe, just maybe get some constructive criticism.

And for the record.

Kirk was the coolest, but Janeway kicked more butt.

It's too bad that the skills can be uncapped to get all of them at level 9.

Chiming in with my 2 cents on the topic. Personally I'm fine with the RA Lower/Upper thing being a 5 grade gap. I always saw RA Lower as a "stepping stone" rank similar to Lt (jg) going into Lt. Beyond that though I think Vice Admiral should be a 10 grade gap as well as anything above that. Really I only see Lt (jg) and RA Lower as "stepping stone" ranks to the "real" ranks of Lt and RA Upper (aka RA).

As for Commodore, I say leave it out. As long as they can correct the text to call you RA I'm fine. In fact I think they should just leave RA as is and have it go from 41 - 50, no lower or upper. Once you unlock the rank give the option to use the single pip/double pip option in the tailor. That way the RP players can use whichever they like similar to using Lt or Lt (jg) pips that exist in the tailor as well as the Chief ones. Since an RA Lower/Upper would be called RA anyway I think it would work. Just my 2 cents though.

I'm sure many have said this but what's up with RADM Lower and Higher levels? I actually looked that up and it's used in the Navy but never once have I heard that used in Star Trek. I also know that Commodore was phased out. Either way, the whole lower half and upper half just sounds so tacky. Just make the whole thing Rear Admiral, no upper and lower.
