I'm not gonna dredge thru 51 pages of responses so please forgive me if this has been asked already.

For the rank of Fleet Admiral it would be cool if we could get 4 additional level 5 ships that react to our toolbar commands and stay active (rather than the holo ship support). Maybe utilizing one of our bridge officers for each ship and replacing their special attacks with fleet attacks. Just imagine attack pattern omega III would give a whole new meaning with your ship and 4 others performing the manuvres. So having 4 ships plus your own ship would in fact create your own 5 man battle group.

Also let's have a special refit for ALL ships and classes at this level so we can use any ship type or class and max it to the hilt for battle.

On the fun side of things it would be great to be able to craft extra stations for your ship that you can place onboard and use whilst walking round the decks, let's have more customizable furniture and useful items like equipment lockers that can store inventory items... the possibilities are endless.

While some of you forget this is a mmo which means you play and fight with other as well as being able to play on your own. You forget admirals while in control of ships do not always get fleets along side them. The current situation i see is that an admiral can call on a ship for support when such admirals ship is in grave trouble. The science captain can get a holo fleet to appear as well as having a real support ship come to their aid.

I do not see the need of pets in this game as starships. Admirals from tng and beyond did not have pets as starships.

Now to cure the affact of STO badly written rank promotion system i suggest this. Admirals and fleet admirals be allowed further access into making better equipment for their ship. Being able to take consol slots from one area and put to another part of their ship. with the crafting system and a starbase this will be the next step of being an admiral and fleet admiral.

Now anyone can craft items but again rear & vice admirals can use lvl 9 to 12. My suggestion is to futher this sytem. being able to craft is awesome now that it has real merit. What i do notice is that again you gain have the ability to craft high level items rather to fast. The problem arises again that the Development team doesnt get it that we are smart and we can max out a game if you put a end goal to a task. They need to have many avenues which a human could not possible know in one life time.

my reference for this idea was actually from all good things. as being an admiral riker was not only able to save the enterprise but also make additional equipment attachments to it.

Now as far as commodore is in concern. the rank of commodore is no longer in use. It was phased out by 2270. Admiral ranks now take the president. from Rear admiral to admiral. Just like kirks promotion from captain to admiral, janeway as well is promotedfrom captain to admiral.

i do believe there is only one fleet admiral at a time in starfleet as this person is named fleet admiral kinda like an election.

I could be wrong, but it seems like all this Upper/Lower/Commodore stuff would go away if the rank was just restructured as "Rear Admiral". It's the weird rank because of the original level cap. Just get rid of the midway promotion point and make it like all the other levels. That way you simply progress from Cpt -> RAdm -> VAdm. Done.

Put me in as also disliking the ungainly lower half and upper half stuff. Just call it "Rear Admiral" or do the Commodore and Rear Admiral split.

I don't understand why this is such a big issue.
Why not just give us Rear Admiral/lower half AND Commodore, so everyone can choose according to his/her personal taste.

About real Ranks in todays Navys: WHO CARES?
This is Star Trek and not the US Navy. The Federation is NOT the USA.
(Ok, for some people this could be quite shocking. )

any release on A or FA ranks? and will an Admiral have the escort option? (the "away team of ships" mentioned in a prior release, Or will it be a long haul to FA to get that very coveted ability at all?

Yes that would be great but an equipment locker would be great for weapons and personal armor. But a ships cargo bay would replace the bank in the sol system to keep a player from having to travel all the way back. So they can continue a mission and still keep items example. Say your inventory is full but you do not want to lose any of the items but your in the middle of completeing a quest. Well instead of leaving acces your ships cargo bay through the inventory store the items and collect. Each ship would have a limited number of items it can store based on ship tier. This way you can not stalk up on every item in game. But the cargo bay option should only be accessed from the ship itself.

P.S. If anyone agrees let me know though the foundry is a good idea and a holodeck is not needed. It would be nice if the ship had one so a player could access the foundry through the ship. Giving a Star Trek feel to it. They could walk up to the panel and open the founder access while the Eye candy takes care of the rest.
