I do a LOT of PVP on RA level, I dont have a huge problem with PVP at RA. Tho trying to get a match in with Klingons is difficult Im usually PVPing vs other feds,
Today and yesterday I got my toon up to Commander, Tried to que a PVP.......Damned que was almost completely empty, just for fun i qued myself for a cracked planetoid....3 hrs later i was still qued.....
I have PVPd constantly over the last few weeks since starting this game. Now that the honeymoon is over I can tell you the major reason this potential player wont be sticking around to fill out the ranks: Broken match generator. Sure I can handle an imbalanced match here and there but I don't think I had one proper match in the entire time I tried playing tonight. You just have to sit there or leave (douchey move to the remaining players). How long is an average match? 15mins? Get 3-4 of these in a row and it's hard not to reach the conclusion that this aspect of the game is fundamentally broken.
STO is a single-player game, Cryptic is deluded to think they ever gave it a MMO chance.
This game is nothing more then a single player game Online, nothing more, nothing less. It has/had great potential for open PvP, but Cryptic just refuses to treat this game as a MMO. The concentrate on fluff, C-store ships/costumes and PvE/STF content.
Give them 2 years and there will be open PvP grounds, but now THEY whine they can't fill KDF side for open PvP, well, how did that come to be? You neglected the KDF side completely, now sleep in the bed you made Cryptic.
Cryptic is a perfect example for a slow moving, slow thinking, slow adjusting company. Considering it is tiny in big game land, it amazes me they have not been able to see this coming and switch.
in STO terms; Cryptic is an Escort class size company which has the innertia of two KDF Carriers...
They failed to abide by the new "on-demand" consumer base.
