wow dude you want to be a big old booger huh. You know, I could see that in star trek oddly enough, dunno about 14 but 8 or 9? easy. I dont see a problem with it,. I think some of the cooler looking characters, the ones that made me double take were either very short or very tall.

Size matters. Would you take a tiny ship over a gigantic one? A small dagger over a huge broadsword? A firecracker or a nuclear bomb? I would rather be gargantuan than puny. I would like to stride through a star-base with my chest puffed out, my head held high, knowing that I am the Juggernaut.

I for one would gladly take a small fleet escort over a huge galaxy X

Especially when you can park yourself in that blind spot around the stern and blast the aft apart. :p

Of course size matters, but the new cool is miniaturization, i.e. smaller, smarter, deadlier. Just go and play Masters Of Orion and you'll see how satisfying the game becomes when your smaller ships take out bigger enemy ships of inferior and older design. In summation, size does matter, just not the way you thought it does, just ask any virus around....

I like to know that when the chips are down, I've got it where it counts, in muscle, form, and stature. Encircled as I may by inferior, tiny peoples, I shall stand fully erect, enormous and amazing.

Are we compensating for something?
