CapnLogan has been hard at work correcting starship designs including the placement of phaser arrays. He's done a lot of work making sure that weapons actually come from the right places on the ships.

But we still don't have the iconic beam effect from the shows -- you know, where the entire phaser strip energizes and links up at the emission point?

Here are a lot of great examples.

Can we get some time in the budget for these FX?

Id like to see this, pretty neat effect. If they had the time and money to do it I would like them to.

Yup!

Bridge Commander did it.
Oh yes, and beam sizes really must be SCALED DOWN! this is definatley not beyond cryptics capability nor would it be very time consuming.

I definately second that, they look way too cartoony right now, scaling them down 20-25% would be cool.

I agree, beams should be scaled down. But I think it is a problem of all ST games. At least in Bridge Commander all this was moddable.

Agree!
First, they need to be scaled down, which isnt very time, and budget consuming.
Secondly, add the effect just like in the youtube vid.
