I recently tried the tribble test server for the upcoming upgrade. One thing that I find annoying and not at all fun is that little game that pops up that doesn't give you any time to figure it out and its just plain annoying not to mention it stops you dead in your tracks when it does pop up. I suppose they thought this would be fun but its just annoying and as if it wasn't enough that the annomalies are hard to see and find sometimes they put that in. You want to make that part better, make it so when we scan for annomalies that they show up on radar and the better your scanner the farther you can see them. That would make it better. Please Please get rid of those game things on the annomalies

They're not going to get rid of it. Most people actually like it. If you dont want to do it, just hit 'f' or esc and keep moving (or some key that lets you escape the game instantly). But most of us want the extra reward and/or rare anomolies that the game gives us.
Plus, once you get used to it, you'll never loose the game. Kind of makes it pointless, maybe they should actually decrease the time, but Im ok with it either way.

Agreed. The only time I've ever failed the minigame is the very first time, when I had no idea what to do.
Heh, I agree with the OP. This minigame was annoying as hell. I sent feedback so the Dev's would at least add a little more time to the timer for an older person like myself to react.
The only time I fail it is when the game pops something else on top of it... like at the end of a Gather Data mission when you hit that last one..., the mission end dialogue pops up with several screens of dialogue. In variably, I'll fail that one 50% of the time as I cant get through the dialogue and the game before the game ends.
Id like to be able to use arrow keys on that one instead of having to mouse it over.
Other than that... Its a great way to replenish mat supplies when grinding.

As a work around, you can permanently more the BO/Mission dialog screen by dragging it and closing it at the screen location you like. It remembers that last place it was closed and will always pop up there until moved and closed again.
The Anomaly mini-game is easy, even for the old folks, You adjust the red signal and start with the amplitude, adjust the amplitude till it matches the blue signal then adjust the period, till it drops into place. Once you have the correct direction the match will automatically happen as you adjust. Using this method I have a better than 90% win rate.
Yes the old folks can easily win this game, I do and I'm 60.
I just figured out what the mini game reminded me of! i'm sure it's a basic version of a minigame at the start of myst 4!
it could do with a little tooltip the first time it pops up to show you just what it is you're meant to be doing but aside from that it isn't too bad and even if you lose you still get some anomolies so it's extremely forgiving.
Even if you fail or quit the mini-game, you get the default data samples you'd get normally-- the minigame only hands out bonuses, it doesn't penalize.
