Bought the Defiant.

Fairly obvious they were trying to do something 'new' but the old Defiant bridge feels much better. It actually FEELS like the Bridge of a warship.

The current one suffers trying to be fancy, I really dislike the standalone standing station behind the Captain's chair. I would have liked it better if it was rotated 90 degrees thus a captan has the schematic of the Defiant at his back.
Better for a screenshot and allows the Captain to literally swing the chair around and see damage to the ship. Essentially being the same as the Prometheus Bridge where the wall behind the chair shows the layout of the vessel.

Intrepid - Looks absolutly stupid from what I have seen. Fortunatly I dont fly one, even if I did I would never use this Bridge

Galaxy - Very nice, almost a shame I dont fly these or justify having that kind of bridge on a Defiant. I would certainly have liked a Defiant bridge that tried to include the forward Ops station in front of the captain and the rear standing station behind.

As it is the Defiant bridge is big but the Captain chair is rather close to the viewscreen with no station in between. However, Cryptic's 'creative' spurts' have been woefully poor when it comes to the ground side of things so expecting anything was pointless.
I wont hold my breath for any improvements in ground scaling , levels to improve anytime soon either.

I wish they would make a true TNG galaxy bridge the ones they make are have the wrong color schemes
I wish they would make the bridge from generations and let us have some of the classic bridges to command from.

Haven't gotten a look inside the Intrepid bridge yet, although from the screenshots it looks more like the bridge of the U.S.S. Brattain, a Miranda class, than an Intrepid.

Defiant Bridge

The inability to have ALL of the BO's on the bridge when empty chairs are available REALLY annoys me.
It is really silly to have empty chairs on ANY ship but on a warship where space is a luxury and DS9 demonstrated every station being manned more often than not, I fail to see why Cryptic decided not to accomodate this.

It's not like the BO's are somewhere else, instead they are just somewhere in limbo which is a real waste for folks spending time getting costumes for BOs that are never seen even on a bridge. I have to get a CRUISER bridge just to get ALL of my BRIDGE officers ON the bridge ?

I personally like them all, galaxy texture and intrepid npc issues aside. I think my least favorite is the defiant pack, I felt like it was missing something. The galaxy was beautiful, and the intrepid was gorgeous as well even though it had that klingon feel to it.



Not to squash your thoughts but as has been stated in the TNG tech manual, not all galaxy bridges are created equal, they don't all look the same. There are different modules that can be put in and taken out, the most prime example is the consoles that run down the sides of the bridge. I personally feel like this is the closest they've come thus far to making it resemble the TV show.

My opinion on them is as follows:

Galaxy

Vey good and interesting colour combinations. Looks a little bit too spacious again but no more than existing ones.

Intrepid

Awful! From the klingon style captains chair to the pillars obstructing everything this bridge type needs to be scrapped. Why on earth can we not get something similar to the bridge seen in Voyager?

Defiant

Like the viewscreen area but thats about it. I hate that there is no distinct helm station and the pictures indicate a band of blocky graphics over the side consoles which looks out of place.


Overall I think bridges need more love and variety. I am yet to use any other bridge but the very nooby one because I find them either too vast or plain unpractical.

Once again blame CBS for this type of snaffu

Thing is, the current Defiant/Galaxy/Intrepid bridges look mostly ok-ish. Close enough for the casual observer, or a nice alternative for people who don't want an exact copy of the canon bridges (I'm using the 'Delta' bridge on my Nova-class ship - it's got a warmer colour scheme and a slightly different layout, but other than that it's a good attempt at the Voyager style).

What I'm sure people want is a pack of screen-accurate canon bridges - not a load of new variants that look even more generic than the current ones! We've effectively got all the 'variants' we need with the ones in-game already - now bring on the real deal!
