Please stop making T5 ships of everything. I heard today that not only do we now have the 6 T5 ships on the Fed side, plus 3 retrofits, plus the Excelsior now?
Please stop letting the "gimme gimme gimme" on the forums drive the game design. The bottom line is a big ship should be a big ship. I don't understand why you have it now where a Miranda is fighting and beating the pants off a Negh'Var because it's "lower level". A Negh'Var should smoke a Miranda (or anything less than a T4 ship, and have a T4 barely escape with 10% hull) all of the time.
What would be nice would be if you'd make ALL our ships be useful even after you've gotten to a different level. For example, you can only get into certain exploration clusters with a certain tier of ship and same for certain DSE's (to avoid having a Sovereign come in and tear everything to pieces in Sirius). You can also do this for diplomacy clusters because you wouldn't go on a diplomatic mission in a guns-blazing escort.
Also what about some actual strategy behind the smaller ships? Thing is you'd have to make the Fed ships a little more versatile. For example, how about a universal station on cruisers? Or making smaller ships in general harder to hit or otherwise somehow more useful? Mask Energy Signature should be super-effective on smaller ships (almost cloaky) and practically worthless on T5 ships.
Please just stop making everything for the endgame and give us a reason to use our other ship slots...

I completely agree. It's pretty sad when you get to Admiralcy and realize that the other ships you've commanded are basically worthless now. If Starfleet's smaller ships were really as worthless as they seemed, you'd think they'd just no bother with them and just make Assault cruisers all the time. Why not perhaps allow players to 'build up' their previous ships? For so many Starfleet Merits, add an extra universal console, or another weapons slot. Be able to purchase those things like other items, so one day perhaps your Constitution class can go toe to toe with the Borg? Why not?! It'll give Captains something to do with the old ships they've got just sitting around, allow you to customize in a way you've never been able to before, and give players some variety so they don't feel like their locked into playing certain ships for certain sectors of space only.
I agree with your post partialy... ONLY because I want to fly NEW SHIPS at max lvl not noob ships at max lvl.
If you wana fly a connie good for you out fit it with mk. X equipment DO NOT TRY AND GET A T5 VERSION. Those ships are lower Tiers for a reason and should STAY that way.

I actually think the old ships like the Miranda and Constitution and Excelsior should cost you Starfleet Merits to procure as your ship builder would have to go and salvage old parts. Might have even been fun to make these parts you have to actually quest for.

I don't think that makes much sense. Sounds fun but that were the ships an Admiral ordered Ensigns to command(!) To me that speaks for it self.
I can see maybe T3 ship and up beeing added to T5, but a T1? No.

You misunderstood, I didn't say a T1 should be added to T5, it was kind of a separate comment on the older ships still being around after 200 years....should cost you Starfleet Merits to basically fly a museum piece instead of something more modern.
