mmm Andromeda Online now that would be neat .... arms her Forcelance and kills Kirkfat with it
Aye. It would have to be set in Season one or Two (IE: Before it went rubbish). I often think that Andromeda would make a great RPG.
Multiple Character types.
The Universe is big and scary, and its just you trying to survive.
Crap technology with the chance of scoring some really cool stuff.
Multiple really Bad enemies. You think the Borg are bad, wait until you run into a Pyrian!
Quantum Slipstream Drive is a nice cookie they throw to Vice Admirals after making the turn rate in Sector Space so horrible. But, you have time to travel almost one sector or one-third of a sector block map. It makes you immune to falling into one of the Enemy Signal things, but if a sector mission is available, the NPC will stop you in your tracks waiting for you to respond to their offer of that mission.
So, the collision part of it is not be-all end-all to unattended sector block travel. You might think -- I'm gonna travel from SOL to the Battle Group Omega gate and fire up the Quantum Slipstream Drive, I should have enough time for a quick bio break or soft-drink run (friends don't let friends Slipstream Drive while drinking the hard stuff). You may return stuck on some NPC trying to give you a fleet action mission that you never went on while nursing your Lieutenant along.
But for one third of a sector block map, you rule the galaxy!
Another swing and a miss: Grant Diplomatic Immunity, the ability you get after gaining (I think) two ranks in the Diplomatic corps -- now THIS would have been nice except for one HUGE thing. You can't use it on yourself, only as a buff to someone else. The ability gives you a 360 second speed buff and makes you immune to falling into the Enemy Signal Contacts. Now this would be great to give yourself a little bit of unattended sector block travel, in case the phone rang, your bladder is bursting or that Diet Doctor Pepper can is bone dry....
But, no. You cannot use it on yourself.
So, I spent all that time taking the sporadic diplomatic missions which give 10 points of DXP or the I've-only-seen-them-maybe-once-a-day First Contact missions that have given me 20 points of DXP, or the hours I've spent praying that the Aid mission I got from Exploring B'Tran or wherever will actually work for once...
And all I can do is buff someone else with two things I really want -- a small boost in speed for sector block travel and to avoid the most-aggravating thing in this game, getting sucked into an Enemy Signal Contact (which happens even when I'm sitting AT THE KEYBOARD AND TRYING TO AVOID IT).
