Looks like many are forgetting that there can be several bugs that are server side only and that fixing those doesn't require a client side patch...it's an online game people, not an offline single player game...
Examples on server side bugs that doesn't require a client patch (unless a UI change is needed):
1. PvP queue
2. Anomaly drops in star clusters
3. Having every member of a group join the same instance
4. Adjusting ground/space combat (fixing those bugged mobs that 1-2 shoot you)
5. Make the UI update correctly by sending the needed data from the server (example: Fleet roster not correctly displaying offline members)
I can go on and on with stuff that can easily be a server side only bug and fixed without a client side patch.
