Yesterday, I installed the demo and played through it. I decided to buy STO, did so, then installed it and waited through the three hour patch download. When I now log in with the account I created during the demo, it keeps insisting I'm using the demo. (I see the advertisement to upgrade from the demo on loading screens. Also, Admiral Quinn will not give me any new quests because he thinks I'm using the demo.)
I went to my account, and even though I'm on the first thirty days free, it's asking what subscription plan I want. As far as I can tell, there's no way to just choose the first thirty days free. Do I have to sign up for a subscription to play through the first thirty days or am I missing something?
I would really dislike having to reinstall the game again after deleting the demo due to the long waiting period for downloading the patch.
Have you activated the Full Game Key that came when you brought the game?
This telll the game you now have a full account not just a demo account
After applying this key, i do belive that you need to set up a subscription to get the 30 free days but you are not charged untill those 30 days are up. Thats how other MMOs work anyway.
