Incorrect, Terradome was definately pre season 2. But you are right in that chief myles was bugged.

G'day i tried this mission with you the other night, we nearly had it except we were let down by a Tac officer who was really week for ground combat. Had we been able to get 1 or in the end 2 more experienced people we would have done it we were very close.

I have noticed that even though a player can get to VA in this game, in no way does it mean they are good at it. The STF missions are blatant reminders of this, it is in fact the very thing that annoys me about these missions the most.

That Tac officer may absolutely kick my butt in space because he chose to focus his abilities there, I just hope he looks at why he was dieing so quickly compared to the rest of us and try to even things out a bit. There is enough groud content in this game to warrant it. I was watching him fight from where is was on top of the crates in the shipyard and it was near comical, the rest of our team never got below 75% and he was running around at 25% while we were picking off his attackers for him.

Scanning undine is irrelevant.

Skill is irrelevant.

One-shotting engineers is the problem.

I've been through this part a zillion times pre 2.0, and have tried to get past it half a zillion times after 2.0... i/we simply can't make it past. I've tried it in lots of different groups, and even when everyone does their job, some engineer is one-shotted by the Undine. I've actually SEEN it happen at my station, i was going to check my engineers healt, and it was at 100%. Just when i was about to tab to an enemy they shot the engineer. One shot, dead...fail.

It seems this part is now a matter of luck. If you're lucky, the Undine won't one-shot the engis, but 99.9% of the times they will

My fleet has given up even trying Terradome now

Deja vu: my fleet's method:

First off, terminology:

For whatever reason we refer to the consoles by their numbers.

#1 is next to the shipyard where you start, they count upward going counter-clockwise ending with #5 near the 1 o'clock position

we have run this with various teams of various compositions. I think the most important constant is that tac officers are equipped with squad leader kit and at least partially specced for "Rally Cry"

we also run Teamspeak

Our team/raid leader is a tac. He starts out by talking to myles, (starting the "Protect the engineers" phase) runs out to terminal 1

for whatever game mechanic reason, all the "fake" starfleet officers turn into hostile undine, and mysteriously die when the engineer at the nearest terminal gets there.

once that happens the team raid leader targets the engineer working on terminal #1 casts security escort, targets himself, casts Tactical Inititive, then targets the engineer and casts security escort again. FWIW I'll mention here that his main weapon is the Mk VII Polaron Rapid-fire assault weapon, you get from one of the missions in cardassian space

With 4 security escorts covering the recruits, that pretty well takes care of terminal 1.

A healer, (if we have one) will man terminal #2

the Tac officers (except for Raid Leader take the high numbered consoles, engineers, if any in the middle.

at this point there are two things to concentrate on. Toys/Pets (Turrets, mortars, drones for engi, Security escorts for tacs) the Pets should be sufficient to keep the recruits under control. the other thing is tracking and DPS'ing the Battle Leader. Sci's should be using a healer kit so they can HP tank both themselves and their engineer.

if you see the battle leader you target it, and do whatever DPS you can, and call out battle leader at #x the raid leader basically follows the battle leader and dps's him until dead, runs back, checks on engineer #1 then has to locate the battle leader again.

once a terminal is hacked, undine stop attacking that engineer and you can leave them be.

#1 usually completes first, freeing the raid leader to deal with the battle leader, #2 usually completes soon after. If we have a healer, he will then run around to the remaining stations and throw heals on the engineers. As the hacking progresses we all converge toward the remaining consoles, usually #4 and #5.

It's pretty rare that we fail deja vu.

if you need more advice hit me up ingame, and we can chat on TS

interresting... what is the significance of the battle leader? is he the one one-shotting the engis? Is he doing superior DPS, or is he ignoring pets?

Running as engineer, i've had my hacker one-shotted even with the corridor packed with turrets, mortars, generators and whatever... happened more than once...

There is a easier way, but you need 2 engineers in your team.

See the video from SancTuary on Youtube:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuLgUmqswg8

Watch the video from 4:15 and you will see a trick to stop the Engineers from suicide

While the Engineers are blocked, try to hunt the Battle Leader and his companions and pewpew them. It is important that you don't die or you will be blocked too after respawn for a while.

well managed to get past this yesterday, saved engineers, went through the massacre of ops and then fought through the janus trials with a 4 man team because one abandonned us (cheers again)

got through to the sulu chamber, failed it

orbit - regroup - beam down

we're back at the start of the trials again

is this a bug? or intentional?

That is because level doesn't represent skill. It represents how much time you've put in. Same as with WoW and many a level 80 or Warhammer and many a level 40. You can have no arms and half your brain eaten by a cannibal. But providing you can bash the spacebar, random mouse buttons and various keys with your forehead, VA, level 80, level 40 etc will come eventually.

Battle Leaders have always been badass. Theyre basically swordmasters who can bull through slows and roots. Fortunately, they arnt too common...
