Following up on the my other post, I thought it was time we took a look at all these meetings that Dstahl and Cryptic are having. As you know the corporate world has two faces, there is the public, shiny happy people face where everyone is singing and happy (chemically induced or otherwise) and then there is the sad evil truth. Of which these are neither.

What we want to happen:

*Somewhere in California in a large, glass tower our developers sit across from each other at a large board table filled with papers, highly caffeinated drinks and star trek action figures.

Dstahl: Ok folks lets start this meeting by getting some information going.
Stormshade: Well the KDF players are really really interested in getting some information on when they will get some attention.
Dstahl: Ya, I know. Well I posted a screen shot of the Gorn ship. What else we got and when can we get it out.
CaptLogan: Well I am working as fast as I can. I have a couple of designs I am waiting approval on.
Zero: I am getting more and more player feedback on what the players want.
Dstahl: So its just going to take time?
Stormshade: Ya, we are working at it as fast as we can.

What we think happens:

*Somewhere deep in a bunker in the California desert. The roar of industrial cooling equipment barely drowns out the moaning of over worked computers and slaves in the accounting department.
Our developers and the CBS liaison sit around a large steel table with a center console with a hologram of Atari's CEO hovering above.

Atari Overlord: Zinc, you have failed me for the last time...
Zinc: *choking sound
Atari Overlord: Dstahl, you are now his replacement. See to it you do not fail me.
Dstahl: Yes master
Atari Overlord: REPORT!
Dstahl: Yes sir, well... we are having some problems... *shudders
Atari Overlord: *gruff mechanical voice; I assume you will have those corrected by the next quarter?
Dstahl: We... we hope so sir. We are waiting on CBS approval.... *gulp
Atari Overlord: Looks at the CBS liaison menacingly.
CBS: hehehe master knows CBS..... master knows CBS give approval... Problem Cryptic.... not me...hehehe
Zero: *chimes in hoping to break the tension. Sir... We have been canvasing the players as you commanded. They are demanding more KDF ships....
Atari Overlord: DEMAND? Players DEMAND NOTHING! They get what we give them and that is all...

What really happens:

*Dstahl asleep at his desk
Stormshade knock on the office door

Stormshade: Hey D, you awake?
Dstahl: Huh? What... oh hey
Stormshade: Late night again?
Dstahl: Ya, I was up with the baby all night. Wife says since I am in meetings all day and just sitting on my bum I can take care of the baby.
Stormshade: Dude... that's harsh. Oh btw, you're supposed to look into the issue with the KDF ships.
Dstahl: Ya I will get on that... *slops over on the desk
Stormshade: So... we will hold off on those meetings for a bit.

Little bit later...
CaptLogan: Hey Stormshade?
Stormshade? Yeah
CaptLogan: Ummmm... I got a email from Dstahl for some new clicks???
Stormshade? Say what?
CaptLogan: Ya, he says they should have plenty of baby formula and the new customization options should include pampers and wet wipes...
Stormshade: Oh man, don't submit that to CBS, they might actually approve that. Ok, well you go get the funnel and I will go get the coffee.

Once again, you forget the pile of dead puppies that have been exsanguinated and the wispy mustaches stroked between meetings.

The forums are at least 10% convinced that this is the case.

Nah - My oldest and middle sleep to March of the Pigs. Thankfully I have like 16 variations of it so I can play that for a few hours, warping his mind, and dad gets a much needed daddy alone time. Not surfing porn either
