SAVE THE KLINGON EMPIRE!

Aloha, welcome to The Klingon Project, the next step for the KDF in the Star Trek Online universe.

To understand this project, let us first go over basic information as well as the issues we are trying to address...

-

Q: What is The Klingon Project?

A: The Klingon Project is the first step in creating a more cohesive group of players for the KDF, one that could rival the organization, content, and quality of a Federation fleet.

-

Q: What issues does it address?

A: Currently there are plenty of fleets for the KDF faction, however most are small. Sure, you might hear people say theirs is very large, but in truth the number of active players is negligible. This diaspora and disconnection of players within the faction decrease the quality of the overall gaming experience. Another issue is that more often than naught, typical "Klingon Fleets" are a subranch of a Federation fleet... akin to an afterthought.

-

Q: How do you propose to do this?

A: Simply by bringing together and combing various likeminded Klingon fleets.

-

Q: Likeminded? So there is a criteria to join?

A: Not quite, but that's not to say there aren't tenants we would follow. The basic 'feel' of The Klingon Project is the following:

-train/teach new players = help out

-train in pvp /pve = have fun

-family = play casually with a laid back and friendly atmosphere... chillax.

It's for the Klingon-exclusive and the Klingon-curious alike... come on, you know you want to.

-

Q: So is The Klingon Project a fleet itself?

A: No, and that's the beauty of it. What we are right now is a means of providing a meeting ground of various fleet leads, fleet members, and KDF players. No ego, no drama.

-

Q: Lay it out for me bro.

A: Will do chief...

Step One: Create a meeting ground for KDF players.

Step Two: Plan, and eventually choose one KDF fleet already in game for players to join into. This is under the stipulation that the fleet would undergo a name change, be independent of the Federation faction, and provide other fleet leaders their due with recognition and responsibilities.

Step Three: Glory to the Empire.

What is key to all this is participation from other fleet leads to encourage their members in working with this project. United we stand.

-

Q: Niiiiiice, anything else we should know?

A: Currently there is already a channel for things KDF specific that will aid in this process, it's called:

The Klingon Project

So if you're interested post your name and your current Klingon fleet if you have one, get in touch with the leads and let em know to get their butts over here. Questions are welcome and any help is welcome, right now we're looking to get the word out and get people talking. What I don't want to see yet is an self promoting ad that says join this or that, come here to discuss, offer, and prove your point. What's good for one isn't good for all. So in short, we are still in Phase One, and this thread is where we'll work for now.

About Me:
Aloha, I'm TAL, most of you know me as that pesky white Negh'var healer boat in pvp. I enjoy good relaxed company, teaching new players the ins-and-outs of the game.

I play a fed casually with the Island Gamers, however more than likely you'll catch me on my KDF character (as he is my 'first' STO toon).
I have no interest in being a fleet leader, however I do want to ensure that the Klingon faction player populace has something long-term, dedicated, effective, and fun.

I hope you all consider this and join in the effort to create something noteworthy and bring our splintered faction together.

You Will never be able to take control of the KDFA . We will not allow this insult to the Klingon fleets in the alliance . not have the power or the right to attempt this. in your own words u are attempting to overthrow everything we in the KDFA have built.

Maybe you need to check with your KDF leader Chang before posting something crazy like that. You know, just to check what has already been discussed and what current plans might be. You completely misunderstood the Klingon Project and the situation we are currently in. I'm just going to chock your post up to misunderstanding of information, so no offense taken and I don't need an apology since it is your first post in forums.

Cheers aye

EDIT: PS To anyone else that has that reaction, feel free to post away and I will explain why that is not the case, more than likely though, I probably won't have to.

# 9 Your Idea

LEONHART,
I have read your proposal, and I have to say that all you speak of, is already in motion within the KDFA.
I have spoken with Sa'Chang and several others on the High Council that the KDFA have established about this, and I can only echo mog's reaction. As I read the Klingon Project, you are suggesting that only through your leadership, can we save the Klingon Faction. What qualifies you to make such a statement?
Are you a developer? Do you interact with Cryptic? I have been interacting with Cryptic for years, when I played City of Heroes and City of Villians. I only left that MMO when Cryptic left. And I have been fortunate, since joining the MHOK fleet, of being allowed to attend the High Council meeting and addressing my concerns and having them relayed to the developers.
While I am passionate about the Klingon Faction, I do not see any benefit of your proposal, based on empty plans and suggestion. I have been on STO since Beta, and I chucked my FED toon as soon as I could play Klingon.
In TRUE Klingon fashion, I have to say you must prove yourself WORTHY of my respect, and not speak like a Ferengi.
IF your heart is TRULY Klingon, you should form a fleet, and join the KDFA and see what its about, before you make any other plans. I went to the KDFA post and amazingly, you quote much of what the KDFA is already doing now, not as a plan for the future.
Maybe you should go play the Federation, and delete your Klingon character. They may fall for your scheme, but I will not. And while the High Council will vote on your proposal on Monday, I will vote no. At this time you are unworthy of leading a band of tribbles. Maybe, sometime in the future, when you can come up with ideas on your own, and show us how you will achieve them, but not now.
IF you are the ONLY salvation for the Klingon Faction, then I do not need to play STO anymore.
Oh, and one more point I would like to make. Do not start a greeting to Klingons with 'Aloha'. I understand what the word means, but it is better suited to the FEDERATS! And maybe that is where you should go, and stay.

Lol are you serious? The only reason I approached the KDFA was because it was suggested by QuanZen that we in fact had similar ideas and it might benefit the community. That was the only reason.

So just to clear up your misconceptions I color highlighted areas in your post that will correspond to the following colors below for everyone's convenience

RED: "As I read the Klingon Project, you are suggesting that only through your leadership, can we save the Klingon Faction. "
-if you read my first post carefully, you will see where I introduced myself, saying I had no interest in leadership and wanted to start a forum of discussion among interested parties.

GREEN "I do not see any benefit of your proposal, based on empty plans and suggestion."
-the benefits are: a single, more active, more cohesive, group of people and all the positives that entail

BLUE "In TRUE Klingon fashion, I have to say you must prove yourself WORTHY of my respect, and not speak like a Ferengi."
-this is a game, a game I play with friends and make friends. I am human, not a fictitious race.

PURPLE "you should form a fleet"
-I have one, thanks. In truth it isn't about starting a fleet, it's about keeping it running

YELLOW "join the KDFA"
-I have already contacted Chang a while back as it was suggested, He noted that they would bring it up in a meeting, so I awaited the outcome of their discussion. However... you know at this point, if your post and your associate's post are what I am going to be dealing with the whole time as both seemed to take it as a threat to themselves (it isn't, at least it shouldn't be... honestly though, really?).... well you might see where this is going. However, as I am a reasonable person and I can theorize where your misunderstandings come from, I'll await what Chang says as a result of the meeting.

RED "I went to the KDFA post and amazingly, you quote much of what the KDFA is already doing now, not as a plan for the future."
-I will say that upon first reading the KDF guidelines I did note similarities, however I didn't read or know of it before it was suggested to me in this thread. No way to prove that, however I don't feel the need to as this isn't about me, or you for that matter, it's about the faction.

That said, thanks for taking the time to read my proposal and I do wish your plans the best of luck for the benefit of the klingon players. Citing association with Cryptic in this matter is not seen as a bonus considering current circumstance, but no one really knows what goes on 'on the other side' so I give them the benefit of the doubt; I don't feel the need to name drop or give my resume, I'm a simple honest person.

I am unsure if chang is aware of all this hubbub, but it is a non-issue. In short, I forgive you for the misunderstanding, so no worries as furthering this none-existant 'fight' is a waste of energy that neither benefits other klingon players or either party in general. Let me reiterate I have no interest in 'taking over' the KDFA group, how that thought entered both your noggins I don't wish to ponder. Please, before you decide to go ahead an berate an idea over your own misunderstandings, do be considerate enough not to add to the pile of mess that is the klingon faction... it doesn't help you, it doesn't help me, it doesn't help the faction.

Cheers and Hakuna Matata,
Tal

EDIT:
ALOHA
I don't demean anyone else's culture by associating it with rats, so there is no reason for you to demean mine.

The reason I say 'Aloha' as a greeting, is because my boyfriend is Hawaiian. I love him, he loves me, my culture is his culture, his culture is my culture, and thats all there is to that story.

It's kind of like Worf and Jadzia... except in our case, I don't die horribly and Worf is kind of scrawny. <3
