That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd run to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd just run across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I run this far, maybe I'd just run across the great state of Alabama. And that's what I did. I ran clear across Alabama. For no particular reason I just kept on going. I ran clear to the ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going. When I got to another ocean, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well just turn back, keep right on going.
I pass them straight on, then click tractor beam repulse and then book it with Evasive, EPtE, and somtime Ramming speed
Is it cheap no
I built my rsv this way to act like a KDF its fun and I pick my fight with MES and better speed than everyone
Also I can catch up to those who run to so its a fair trade off like a BoP can catch me somtimes =)
Is it wrong simply =no
If you cry about it you need to respec if you want that prey
Iam sure all of you cruiser are ok with in 10km then cry when we play with up to 20km of free space
This adds another playstyle and stratagy to beat it.
In short I use it, and i find it annoying ashell when my own evasive is down. There is a honorable mention to a famous fed (without naming him) but hes damn good at running but not so much at the other stuff.
What im saying is be smart your dying have 10 ppl shooting at you and 5 seconds of rsp left and your on 40% hull and evasive manouvers are up... wanna die or run?
I know who you're talking about, we both have him on our friends list. :p
He learned the tactic from Klingons and adopted the tactic when Cruisers weren't so tankish as they are now.
Now let me ask you all question:
Is it retreating if a person purposely jumps barely out of weapons range in order to have others give chase and drag 1, 2, or 3 others away from the furball. So that the others on your side can have a better chance in gaining victory.
I fly a BoP and thats what it is made for Hit & Run
yop. if it got hit, it must run ;D *scnr* (some of them are really tough...)
yeah, why should one NOT use his evasive skills in combat for safing his live or getting in better position? sometimes i have to use them even to close up to some fleeing oponent to finish him. or using the speedbuff from evasivemaneuvers to bring warp plasma to greater effect by spreading it wider and/or having better chances to get some ships caught in it.
I don't really run from a good beating, it's the old bouncer in me, but I do run to catch up to someone fleeing my attack. You know the smell of blood and all that. Truth told I admire a good runner and I resent them in the same breath. I guess that makes me a duelist at heart.
I admire it because I can see it's tactical uses. In an arena match it's all about denying the opponent a kill, nothing more than that.
Even in cap and hold it can have it's uses. If I can break their lock and get forgotten, (when I am on one of my Feds), or get my cloak on in time to slip away, (like when I am on one of my Klings), I can often find a nice forgotten objective and heal while I cap.
That is why I find it annoying, I can see it's uses but that old ground holding bouncer in me refuses to let me take advantage of that knowledge in the heat of combat. This is especially true when I have found that opponent who, win or lose, makes for a real good fight. So I am left to kick myself in the butt when my target can pull it off. LOL
I say it is fair play and grumblers like me need to learn to work around it or take advantage of it. In the end a good soldier knows when to sacrifice.
