The dreadnoughts show up once in a blue moon (i've only ever seen one) and they are hilarious. Since the counter is so simple i dont see the problem...
Fleet support is after all a panic power and the whole intention is to either force the enemy team to retreat or accept the NPC's punishment. God forbid players take Cannon Scatter Volley or Gravity Well...
New thread title: "The Gal-X Strikes Back"
I spawned a carrier once, and it was fun seeing it spawning all those little fighters and giving the Feds a hard time. However, I agree that this ability has no place in PVP at all.
It's the most ridiculous idiotic thing that could ever have been imagined.
There's enough spam in the air already with mines, torps, fighters, siphons, etc.
If you can't fight your own battles in PvP you shouldn't be be PvPing.
The notion you're able to go WEEEEEEeeeeee and instantly have scripted PvE mobs do all the fighting for you as you rocket off is absurd.
Carrier's should be the only ship in the game allowed to spawn scripted PvE mobs in a PvP scenario.
I agree and do not like the NPC ships as well. They are way too easy to spawn (except I never get the option as a Klingon-even when at 14% hull) and they do nothing but cause grief. It was silly power to begin with and is now just annoying at best.
Last night I summon my first one ever, I 90% of the time get frigates
I was running from 3 ships in pvp I had 26% health almost no shields about to die so I called a photonic fleet and the dreadnought I died when 2 of the ship came into range but by then I CPB 3 before I died and both escort died in two huge volleys by the dreadnought and Photonic ship.
So with me just getting the dreadnoguht before I died it killed 2 escort= 2 points which is awsome.
Also today one got called in the arena on the other side, you know what I did push it away out of the group with Tractor beam repulse, easy no harm done was great then EptE and got out of there.
Is it to powerful maybe a tad but they are very very very rare so its nothing to cry about there are ways to move them out of a fight, or you could move out of distance.
I really have no personal problems with them - because I run away. All too often, however, my teammates get tunnel vision and assume they *must* kill it or the universe will implode.
I'm one of the few fans of fleet support and NPC ships in PvP. I think it's fine but a dreadnought is a HUGE leap from a battleship. One of those dreadnoughts could take out a fleet of those battleships and end the fight at 100%.
