I know some people are in love with the PADD or other such shenanigans.

However, how cool are these TED talks on research at MIT's Media Lab:
Imagine the user interface from the Minority Report but portable and usable anywhere and in hundreds of more applications.

And it's partly working right as of last year....

Awesome!

Given humans have a minimum 9 senses. I hate those links already.

Edit: Having watched them, a gargoyle is still a gargoyle, augmented reality is an old idea, but like the Kinect (clearly some one at Microsoft was watching this) you adding a layer of abstraction, not subtracting it, it's more work to interact with it than a conventional device.

Um.... they're pretty awesome. Have you seen them or does my 42nd sense of sarcasm fail me?

Meh. Until we get holograms or better, we won't pass Star Trek. Some of that is interesting, but I don't really see a lot of that being more useful than what's already in place.

I thought it was more useful than PADDS. In fact, it looked closer to the 29th century tech from the Temporal Cold War in Enterprise than the 24-5th century PADD.
