More and more threads about what ships people would like to see added to the game.
The how doesn't matter; C-Store or not. That is not what we're discussing here. This is just a master list or ships people want to be able to fly. We can even have a special category for ships you wanna see NPCs fly too.
The Ship Survey is now closed! Thank you for voting. See This Thread for the results
Some ground rules:
They need to appear in Star Trek licensed material.
It doesn't HAVE to be hard canon ships that appeared in a movie or TV series.
They can be from artwork, books, card games, video games, and other approved published material.
Ships made by a fan and not acquired by CBS can't be listed, legal ownership rights would make them too hard to acquire.
If there is an excellent case made, we can perhaps list these separately as something to investigate.
Ships shown in production notes and design mock-ups are valid, however. Including Perpetual ships

Notice: I ran out of room and had to move the "Ships in Game" section to my 2nd post in this thread, located Here. That is where I'll make notes of suggested tweaks or variant models.
I'm gonna list the kitbashes people require in here, but let's try to keep it within reason. A lot of these were made simply for debris shots after battles and never received polished models. A lot of times they have wildly mismatched parts and look very bizarre. (Note: A kitbash is a ship made out of parts from Models of different ships; so a Galaxy saucer and some Excelsior hull and nacelle pieces, or something - they were widely used as filled ships in graveyard scenes)
In my opinion, it would be better for Cryptic artists to make an "Inspired by" versions of the cooler kitbashes that solve some of the weird issues rather than a straight reproduction.
And yes, I am aware that a few of the kitbashes are already in game (Cheyenne, Centaur) and they aren't terrible, but they're also more "accepted" ships soft-canon wise.
FASA ships generally share the same issues; They took stock ships and added things on for variety.
I still say we need the Steamrunner ingame. The Zephyr is just, in my eyes, a poor, chunky and ugly substitute for the class.
Same case for the Norway.
I don't agree with the "poor, chunky and ugly" part, but saying that they are the canon ships reminds me of the people who said that the Vesper was the Excelsior. It would definitely be nice to have the originals. Together with the Akira at T5.
So far we have:
Enterprise = TOS original (Tier 1)
Enterprise A = Constitution Class Refit (Tier 2)
Enterprise B = Excelsior Class Refit (Tier 5 variant)
Enterprise C = missing in action
Enterprise D = Galaxy Class (Tier 4)
Enterprise E = Sovereign Class (Tier 5)
The Ambassador class made its big debut in Yesterdays Enterprise (Next Generation T.V. episode) but was seen in other Star Trek episodes such as the battle in Wolf 359. Its a much newer ship class then the venerable Excelsior Class and there is no reason why it shouldn't be in service in STO's timeline. In my opinion the Ambassador has a more classic Enterprise profile then the ungainly Galaxy Class (sorry Next Gen. fans but i have never been a real fan of the design for Enterprise D).
I know there was a ship poll done and the Ambassador oddly did not fair as well as the Excelsior or Nebula in that poll but it is a CANON ship and would make an awesome alternative to piloting the bigger, bulkier Galaxy class. Heck make it a science class, for what its worth to make the science captains happy , just make the darn ship already!
