# 22 Yet more niggles...

This post in the General Feedback forum is a good reminder, thanks Xaben.

The Chat UI is clunky and messy, so time for another list with priorities and everything:
  • We need the ability to copy chat settings from one character to another.
  • We would like an option to change the textbox colour to match the channel we're talking to when typing our messages.
  • We would like the target of our messages to appear in a fixed panel on the left of the textbox. Reminding us of the channel or player we're talking to before we hit Return, without needing to scroll back to the start. (Maybe changing what's shown in the drop down list.)
  • We would like a 'Tells' tab to have a vertical panel of buttons dynamically listing the players we've talked to. This will allow us to filter private messages to an individual conversation.
  • We would like to set different font families and sizes for different text channels or tabs.

(Using the Royal 'We' here. Everyone's priorities are different.)

Still too many pop-up windows and worse those windows interfere with each other.

Nothing should EVER pop-up on my screen unless I personally have clicked on the button/bar to allow it. NEVER EVER PERIOD.

When I use my Tricorder it should allow me to search for anomalies, mission objectives and enemies as separate options.

I should be able to open up 4 power trays, on Ground or in Space. Or 5 if I want them, or 6 or 7 or however many power trays that I want to.

And I need to be able to shrink that BO pop-up window to be as small as I want it to be.

The pop up tooltips for items - specifically BOffs - do not scale with the UI, meaning at 1024x windowed I can't read the last 2 ground abilities on my candidate to figure out whether he/she is worth keeping.

I was in a group and actually lost items I had just extracted from a crate (the take window was still open) when a Boff message and group beam out popped up. I couldn't click take with the window open, and when I dismissed it the take window closed and I couldn't reopen it to get the items.

Very annoying.

Bump, simply because I agree so strongly with the OP. Please Cryptic, I'm begging you to have a look at this.. The 'Power Tray Improvements' on STO Advanced (http://www.sto-advanced.com/?p=121) is fantastic and I wish I could be permanent rather than have to be reapplied all the time.

It could be permanent. You just need to do a find-replace in the ui.bin file. Problem is that this file changes almost every other week so it just doesn't worth modding.

Can we PLEASE get a little "X" in the upper left corner of the System Sector Planet tabs that pop up when you get close to one? You know like the Transwarp gate, or Sol System pop up?

ANYTHING to allow me to MAKE IT GO AWAY.

Please.

If I understand what you're asking, I think there's a little arrow near the bottom left of that window (between the planet image/info and the button to enter the system) which will minimize/close that info box.

With due respect, it just minimizes the info. The box didn't close on my end, and just sat there in the middle of my screen until I moved out of range.
