A bug that involved Romulan Liberated Borg captains and their skills once they chose an ally
I would love to see the ability to use more than one of the ships in my inventory at the time.
It seems to me that an Admiral, maybe Vice Admiral, should be able to promote 1 or 2 of his crew to Captian & assign them command of a ship in the Admirals inventory. This way, as an Admiral, you could field multiple ships under your command.
I can see some limits being placed on this... The Admiral picks a flagship & can only field 1 or 2 supporting vessels with it. None of the supporting vessels can be of the same or higher tier.
For example: I choose a Star Cruiser as my flagship. So I would choose a Valiant Class Tactial Escort and a Discovery Class Long Ranger Science Vessel as my supporting ships.
The control would be very much like the ground or away team missions where your team follows you around, attacks threats, & uses their abilities to help you complete the mission at hand.
Stahl said in his recent interview that he Cryptic is trying to put something like that where you can make your Bridge Officers into Captains and be able to command them in a small fleet.
In the thread outlining ranks after RA, they mentioned that they want Fleet Admiral to be something different and cool. Hopefully by the time the levels are that high, that will mean commanding an actual fleet.

Thats awesome. I can make my Borg Bridge Officer aka my Number 1 into a captain. This makes my plan work out even better.
As long as this never makes it into PvP, it sounds like a fantastic idea...
PvP is already lacking in teamwork of any sort unless you're in a pre-made group with voice-comms (yes, I know it's an exaggeration... but it's not too far from the truth). I'd also hate to see the lag that would arise with 16 players each running 5 ships...
I really hate this idea. It's bad enough having a 'ground crew'. They should be taking cues from Bioware on how to make STO more like an actual RPG. The focus should be on one character, not a dozen.

Honestly, I do tend to think that special BOffs like the Breen one and the liberated Borg will be restricted somehow from being able to bee promoted to a captain you can use, though if they can be used as an npc captain and not the playable captain idea I have seen the devs bounce around that might make a difference. With that said being able to call in or even deploy with a fleet of your own devising might even help on the idea of making missions like the Cure and such playable by smaller groups without having to create a weaker version of the mission.
