I think that was a total swing and a miss on the Crew stat question. The poster was clearly asking about the currently-pointless number of "crew" that each ship has (500 on an Oracle, 350 on a Luna), which is also represented as the line of white/orange/grey figures under your shield and hull indicators. It's featured so prominently, yet does virtually nothing for gameplay.
Instead, he seems to have interpreted it as being a question about BOFF space traits like the infamous Efficient ability that only appears on Liberated Borg Engineers and Saurians.
Edit: Either that, or the answer is "crew count and crew bar are useless until we make a new system to take its place". Which would at least explain the roundabout explanation involving crew candidates and passive bonuses.
Edit2: Nope, after re-reading, it's almost definitely that second interpretation. Ship's crew capacity will translate into passive bonus slots (more crew = more slots, most likely) and getting your crew blown up in combat will start turning those bonuses off.
Eventually? Really? Eventually? You guys PROMISED this Feature, we are waiting for it since May and now it is eventually? You got to be kidding me. The so called far more urgent requests are for Neverwinter or for STO? There is no eventualy for Sitting in Chairs if you want to keep Roleplayers as Costumer.
LOL! They are working on CONTENT, more stuff for the KDF, game balancing issues, more endgame content, mission re-playability, bug fixes.....
...and you are griping about CHAIRS. ::facepalm::
I am sure it is coming. It is hardly a "high priority" item, however.
Back on topic, I am really excited about everything they are looking to do with this game. As long as we the community continue to give them constructive feedback, and push (without hostility) for features we want as a solidified community, this game will grow and grow.
First: They hope to work on Content. Thats what the Ask Cryptic says.
Second: For RP players Sitting in Chairs is a Feature that makes the possibilitys for RP better and provides Content that Way. If you are not a RP player, inform yourself before you talk about stuff you don't know anything about.
And third: You can stick your Facepalm and your rolleyes where the Sun don't shine.
1. So, you think they are sitting around all day just TALKING about HOPING to work on content?
2. I am an RPer, and as it stands we have a rudimentary way of sitting in chairs. It works for the time being. Deal with it. There are other more PRESSING matters than your ability to sit in a chair right now.
3. I appreciate your grade school insults! This made me laugh!
Finally, do not turn this thread into a bickering session of "those stupid devs don't know anything" and "if you don't agree with me you can stick it where the sun don't shine". You are entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to mine. I don't agree with you, and you want me to stick "things" in "bad places". LOL!
Season 3 will have replay for missions? How will that work, will we go to our ships' holodecks? will we buy replay from c-store (if that happens, I'm not doing it)? Will we hail someone at starfleet? When we're there, will the enemies scale in level, will we get the same rewards? Will we control our enemy level? Will the mission be repeatable infinite times? please mail my character Flipse@Sherman001 or e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org://forums.s...ilies/wink.gif
Cryptic, if there are ANY paid expansions added to this game at any time, I will cancel my subscription and either go back to xBox Live or buy the Star Wars MMO. I have only so much money that I can allocate to an online game and I want it to be STO. Already I pay $15 a month plus all the extra commodities I desire. I do appreciate the way you have structured it where the C-Store contains mainly extra content that doesn't turn you into a super player. Don't ruin this by making us pay for the expansions. If it's an entirely new game, I'll think about it, but if I have to pay for ANY future seasons, I'm walking away.
EMERGENCY! Quick, call a weekend emergency staff meeting! We have a player here threatening to quit the game! He might actually play a different game! Oh God, what are we going to do about this?! After all, it's the VERY FIRST TIME this has happened!!!
Yeah, Cryptic is scared of losing your $15/mo...which barely covers a day's lunch by the way.
Please get over yourself. While I'm sure they care about their overall subscription base, this post was just needless. And for every one of you that quits in a glorious fit of self-righteousness, there's many other STO players that play more than one MMO and pay multiple games monthly or who already bought lifetime subs. If you're really this fickle to explode over a few lines in a single interview, you were a fickle customer anyway and your retention possibility wasn't that strong anyway.
Q: HotStuff_ST: When can we expect to get Caitian Bridge Officers?
Dstahl: We’ve been holding on to some very specific Bridge Officer species so that we can first finalize all the details of converting a Bridge Officer to a Captain. Since Caitians are a premium species offered through the C-Store, we do not want to trivialize player’s purchases by allowing everyone to simply go get a Caitain bridge officer and converting it to a playable Captain. So once we’ve worked out the details of how the conversion feature will work, we will come up with a fair way to add these rare Bridge Officers into the game.
This doesn't add up.
There are currently three races not offered as BOs. Catians, yes. But Benzites and Letheans as well. Both of those races are absolutely free.
There are currently Rigelians, Pakleds, Joined Trill, Ferengi, Federation Klingons, Tellarites and yes Catians as purchasable races to play. All of those except Catians are currently commonly available bridge officers.
See how that doesn't add up?
The majority of the races NOT available as BOs are free. The Majority of the races that are paid for, are available as BOs.
So could you clarify that answer please? Right now it doesn't make any sense.
I don't agree with you, and you want me to stick "things" in "bad places". LOL!
Bad Places? I don't know what you mean with bad places.
The Place Where The Sun Does Not Shine is not to be confused with things belonging into the field of anatomy. Instead it is a place in Slice – an area in the Lancre kingdom – hidden in the high Ramptop mountains. Surprisingly, in The Place Where The Sun Does Not Shine the sun does not shine. This place is a steep vertical shaft in the rock, and the slow, heavy Discworld sunlight cannot even get in by flowing and sinking into it.
